Today, we will get a taste of the safety services offered in Travis County. We are catered by Buenos Aires Cafe in Austin, and our entertainment is Billy Joel.

Let’s jump on the bus.
The signpost is up ahead. A poster for the event.

Lots of folks.

The motorcycles of the sheriff are always a big draw.

The park police are here.

Many patrol vehicles.

A big fire truck with jaws of life.

E.M.S. unit.

A fire simulator unit to give you the feeling of being in a fire.

A multi-patient E.M.S. unit for disasters.

The mother of all S.W.A.T. vehicles.

Lakeway police vehicles

Tents to visit.

A band that is really a duo.

Of course, the bookmobile.

Along with other games, a haunted jump house.
We have seen a lot, and now it is time to relax, have food, and listen to the music.

That gnocchi looks so good. When hubby was the coxswain of the local Lifeboat, he always participated in these events. A great choice for a song. Have a super Sunday.

Wow, what a great day, John. Now don’t start stealing any of those cool choices of S.W.A.T. vehicles 😂

It is good for people to see all the local efforts to ensure their safety, and having entertainment at the presentation is nice. It’s great that it’s free! That big S.W.A.T. vehicle is impressive to me.

I think that thing could go anywhere. Thanks, Tim.

I agree with Tim. I am always impressed with the EMTs, but that multi-patient vehicle is outstanding!

Let’s hope it never is needed. Thanks, GP

You have choosen a very great song, John! Could be the motto song of the day. Here we have similar events, named after the flashing lightall these security forces have on top of their cars, “Blaulicht-Tag”. But i must say the shown vehicles on your site are looking more powerful. Best wishes, Michael

That gnocchi sounds delicious and who doesn’t love Billy Joel? I love that your town does this. It’s important to know how one’s town is there for you, for any crisis.

It is good for folks to see what safety services and vehicles are out there in time of danger and disaster when they don’t need them. No one wants to see that S.W.A.T. unit or huge EMS unit in action. Always good to see the bookmobile anytime! I’ll have the pollo al horno

It was a good day. I would not want that S.W.A.T unit in my driveway. The bookmobile is a great sight. Thanks, Jo.

I’m still grinning over that S.W.A.T. vehicle, John. It looks more like something that belongs overseas in a war zone. I can’t imagine Lakeview has much need of something like that … but better to be safe than sorry, huh?

We don’t need that unit here for sure. We do feel safe here.

That was quite the event. I just want to know where that woman found those silver cowboy boots!

Good question. I didn’t notice them while I took the photo. I would have asked if I had noticed.

They really covered all the bases with this one, Boss. I was just fine with some fettucine and nice weather but nope, they went all out. But I gotta say, I wouldn’t want anywhere near a fire, not even simulated thank you very much. But the SWAT monster truck, yes, that’ll do just fine. I love that thing.
Perfect song to cap it. 😉
PS- Sorry I missed the toast. Charged my phone and then went to sleep early to catch up with the extra hour. It worked!

That’s a great event to take the edge off between public safety and the public. I love seeing the bookmobile at these events! I had to laugh, after seeing the ultimate SWAT vehicle and then the golf cart. If I were driving the golf cart, I might wait until the big guy was well down the road.
If there’s any left, toss a plate of Fettuccine in the microwave.
LikeLiked by 1 person
I noticed the golf cart had one light out. Maybe followed the S.W.A.T. vehicle a little too close. We made fresh Fettuccine for you. That microwave sauce breaks and all you have is melted butter.

I love how there’s always something going on there. I would have visited the bookmobile and then tried to get into the haunted jump house – I’m short, so maybe they wouldn’t notice I was an adult!
