Thursday – A Little Personal – Chilly Weather

“Wow, that was some storm last night. Look at our tent.”

“Yeah, and it is chilly out here. Hey dad. What’s the temperature.”

“Right now, it is 58 degrees (14.4C) but was 46 (7.7C).”

“Way too cold for outside play.”

“Hey, Mom, open up. A couple of freezing fur kids out here.”

“Tempeste. Dad will let us in.”

“Now, this cozy office is more like it.”

“I suppose you are right. That air was a little brisk. I need to find a toy.”

“There are a lot of choices. What’s that?”

“I have Mr. Eel. I haven’t played with him in ages.”

“Now what?”

“I’m giving Mr. Watermelon a look-see.”

“This is like watching a bee go from flower to flower.”

“Mr cheeseburger looks like he might need a friend.”

“You two okay in here?”

“Yes, Dad. Twiggy is making up her mind on which toy to play with.”

“Okay, so I see you are looking at Mr. Butterfly.”

“I always enjoy playing with Mr. Butterfly.”

“Does this mean you are settled, and I can choose a toy now?”

“Oh yes. Be my guest.”

“You won’t believe me if I told you I wanted to play with Mr. Butterfly.”

“Oh yes, I would. It is like everything else I play with. You want it the minute I touch it.”

“I resemble that remark.”

    LOL! Just like kids.

That is chilly! We’re chilly as well. It’s down to 22 degrees F right now and will get just a wee bit colder later in the morning. I’m with the girls in finding a warm cozy spot to hang out in!

These guys are pretty used to 90 degrees so 58 seems cold to them. Thanks, Deborah.

“I want that one!” That’s how it goes when you have two kids playing.

We are bouncing all over the thermometer this week, John. It was 81 yesterday, but 26 Monday morning. Personally, I’m looking forward to leaving the 70s and 80s behind. This is the time of year for 50s and 60s.

Kids will be kids. 😊 You’ve captured a universal truth. Well done, John. BTW, it’s freezing in our area – 32 degrees. Much toooo cold for me.

Yes, 32 degrees would be the end of me for sure. Stay warm. 🥶

My dogs do the same thing. If Otto chooses a toy that becomes the one Frankie wants.

I guess it is universal. There are a couple of toys that Tempeste will race up and snatch out of Twiggy’s mouth.

I didn’t realize these two are so sensitive to temperature other than real cold. Great tagline by Twiggy because we know that’s what youngsters do.

Isn’t that always the case? You offer everything but the kitchen sink, and they both want the same thing. They’re so cute. Sending them belly rubs.

So sorry about the tent. I hope that’s the extent of the damage.

Our tent was to keep the blazing sun off the turf so these guys could play in the yard. The tent is back up so no harm. Looked worse that is was. Thanks Staci. They love those belly rubs.

My gosh! I can’t believe you’ve already had such low temperatures. What a difference two hundred miles can make. I laughed at that assortment of toys. The phrase “spoilt for choice” came to mind, but at least they’re well prepared for 48F!

Twiggy and Tempeste need to come here. It is 80 again today – the lowest we’ve gotten is maybe 62 so far this winter. Ugh. But the girls are like little kids with their toys – always wanting what the other has – and your office looks like our family room use to look – toys everywhere. They aren’t spoiled much, are they?

So many toys…so little time. P.S. You’d have been pawsitively frozen if you were here-it’s snowing hard (still) and in the mid-20’s. Lots of tree branches have come crashing down because most of the trees still have their leaves. Have a terrific time playing, you two.

It was obvious my little rescue, Izzy never had had a toy till he moved in with us. Now he obsesses over them. I take them all off my bed in the morning. He moves them right back as soon as I make the bed. As the day progresses, he roughs up Bud’s side of the bed and hides them under his covers. Once we go to bed, he keeps moving them through the night. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with his favorites. One is a dried out roundsteak bone and the other a dessicated sharp rib bone. Bud is put in the trash several times to no avail. It always reappears.
