Hi John, I always enjoy old cars although I’m not remotely untested in modern cars. The bonnet of the 1934 Ford V8 coupe is interesting, it seems to double in half.

The bonnet opens from both sides to give full access to the engine. A very handy feature.

These are beauties, John. I love car shows. Too many great ones to pick a favorite, but I do like that old Cadillac and the MG. The last time you had pork chops on the menu, I had something slightly healthier – what was I thinking. Chops please.

The chop looks good today. I love these shows too. There were over 100 cars and so I had to pick and choose.

I’d never go to a car show myself, but I must say there are a couple here I enjoyed. The “Come and Take It” car sure is a classic, in several ways, but that red ’57 Chevy? Yes, please! I’d love to find that under my Christmas tree. Speaking of Texas classics, some paired up for a perfect car show song.

Cool cars. Though I always find it weird when they sit out there with they’d hoods up. Can’t stuff fall in?

Like a passing blackbird dropping. I guess stuff could fall in. The owners are proud of those engines.

Me too. There was a girl in high school who had a 1958 Corvette. We called her Cookie Corvette.

Wow! Seeing so many classic cars is sure a pleasure. The Steppenwolf song brings back memories of seeing them in concert on Oahu in 1969.
LikeLiked by 1 person
That must have been a great concert. Thanks, Tim.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Actually, the police disrupted the concert. So many people stormed their way in without purchasing tickets and closed in on the stage that the police had to stop the concert while they made those people leave. Marijuana joints as big as cigars were being passed around and the concert hall was filled with smoke, but the cops didn’t seem worried about that.

1957 was a good year for cars. Those old coups from the 30’s and 40’s are pretty cool as well.

Love that 1931 Buick! My Dad’s last Jaguar was an XKE and a girlfriend had a ’57 Thunderbird! I guess I fit right up there with the old cars!

What an amazing array of vehicles. While I mostly view cars as a utilitarian function in life, I will admit I almost drooled at the McLaren…that is until I saw the MG Midget. I had one circa 1976. LOVED that tiny little car but it wasn’t nearly as cool at those from the 50’s. One of my high school classmates had one that I fell in love with it or maybe it was him…he was a pretty cute guy. LOL

I had a friend with a 53 Midget. He was so tall the windshield wasn’t high enough so he had to wear goggles.

Yup…I can believe it. They used to kid me about mine being the only car in the world that could hide behind a VW Beetle when the top was down. 😉

I remember riding in a Cadillac that that one. The B52s song Love Shack called their Chrysler “As big as a whale,” but you could fit two Chryslers into one Caddy.

I hope you’ll keep doing these car show posts, John — I love them! Love the T-bird and the Corvettes especially, and I got a giggle out of the Texas-style Olds. These older model cars had great personalities, don’t you think?!

There had to have been 10 vintage corvettes and the same number of T-birds
