Last Friday was movie night in Lakeway. By the miracle of a time freeze, we can still attend. The event is at the Activity Center in Lakeway. The movie is A Christmas Story. We are catered again by Craigos Pizza and DonutsNV. Our entertainment is Pistol Annies.
Menu
Pizza, Donuts, Hot Cholate, and Smores. (There will be a defibrillator available)

There’s the sign

Looks like the Activity Center is ready for us.

A box outside the Activity Center for Santa letters.

Reindeer at the Activity Center.

More atmosphere.

An outside tree.

Welcome.

The lamp and Ralphie in his new PJs.

Still, it’s time to write letters to Santa.

A festive tree in the Activity Center.

Santa says, “Give me Smores, or someone gets hurt.”

Beautiful Hibiscus plants.

Pick up your Smore kit,

Roast those marshmallows over an open fire.

Here’s the donuts.

And the pizza.
It is time to relax and enjoy the movie, food, and music. I hope you have a great week.

You really have to get the first price for this wonderful decorative presentation, John! I am overwhelmed how wonderful your community invites to the celebration. Even if the US-American food packaging can’t keep up with those in Germany – we have the processing advice as a possible serving suggestion Lol – your decoration ideas are unique and wonderful. Best wishes, and enjoy a wonderful 3rd of Advent. xx Michael

Lakeway has done itself proud. Not too gaudy, decorated just right! Hope you all had a good time.

Once again, your town/neighborhood shows terrific spirit, John. Oh, before I forget, I’ll have a slice of pizza and a honey glaze. Yes, marshmallows and a stick. A great movie, timeless.

I agree, Steve. It is timeless.

As a matter of fact, a number of us are getting together today to watch this film, and I noticed a shop window with a pink Ralphie painted on it yesterday. The movie sure is a classic.

The Activity Center is nicely decorated for Christmas, John. To have the mailbox for Santa is great for the children, and the doughnuts would be a good snack for the event. Well done!

I’m not a fan of graham crackers and can’t eat marshmallows but they do look like fun. Just as well too, I need to eat less of this kind of food but will be happy to watch others nosh on them. 😉

Yeah just a plain chocolate bar is no fun. Well…wait a minute. It is fun.

One of the great lines in the movie–along with “Fragile” and “Who’s mommy’s little piggy?” 🙄🐷

A Christmas Story began as a short story from in Jean Shepard’s “In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash”. Anyone interested in writing humor should start there.

They are doing something similar here at the Egyptian Theater. Ralphie will actually be in attendance, because he lives here. Have fun and don’t shoot your eye out.

Fabulous menu — brings out the kid in all of us! One of my neighbors has a “leg lamp,” and I giggle when I go past and see it in all its legginess! I’m partial today to the Hibiscus plants — can you tell I’m already weary of winter’s chill?!!

How cheerful! Did you get your letter sent to Santa? 🎅🏻

I did. I ask Santa for the same thing each year. A turbo Bentley Convertible. So far, nothing.

I think that would be a great idea, Rebecca. Of course out temps are in the 70s so it might get a little uncomfortable. 😁
