Saturday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Tempeste in the Sun

“Where you going, Twiggy?”

“I want to take a sun  bath.”

“Sunbath? What is a sunbath?”

“It’s where you lay out in the sun and let the sun warm your bones.

“Anything with the word bath in it can’t be good.”

“Oh, you would be surprised how good.”

“Do you need shampoo and stuff?”

“No, you just bring yourself and the sun take care of everything.”

“Does it get in your eyes and sting?”

“No, and your shampoo doesn’t do that either.”

“Do you get all wet and shivery?”

“Of course not; the sun is nice and warm. I’m heading for the cot.”

“I always make mom think I am being killed when she gives me a bath.”

“Yeah, I have heard you. Come on out here. It is lovely.”

“Okay, so I’m here.  What is that nasty stain?”

“It’s been here since we moved in. I think a worker dropped something on the concrete. Ignore it.”

“The weather is nice but I’m just unsure of the bath thingy.”

“Stop being a baby and get over here.”

“Whoa. You were absolutely right. This is like heaven.”

“I told you. Well, just relax and let the sun do its job.”

I have been working in business for over forty years and now have the time to work in special areas of interest. My passion has always been to create compelling stories of fiction. I have authored six novels and am working on my Seventh. The first novel is still in manuscript form and being utilized as a door stop in the laundry room. The second is a contemporary fiction novel of 89,000 words and is complete and I am currently seeking a publisher. I also write poetry but have not had the guts to share any with anyone.   4. Ah, heavenly to lie in the sun… of course, you didn’t rub baby oil on yourselves and lay on a reflective sheet, young ladies. But honestly, none of that ever helped me enjoy being in the sun as much as you two seem to. Carry on! xx

  7. LOL! Dot is having a sunbath as I read this. They had to stay in yesterday as we were having some work done on the house. They were not happy about that. I love your doggie sunbed.

  11. Would like to join them for the sunbath. We’ve forgotten what the sun looks like way up here. The streets are icy and there’s snow in the forecast. Enjoy the warmth, Twiggy and Tempeste.

  21. Does it sound weird to say I’m jealous? But I am. I’m a true lover of sunbathing, but at 25 degrees and snow approaching, no sunbathing here. Now, perhaps Tempeste should be given a warmmmm, soothing bath with bubbles directly after sunbathing, and it would seem more appealing. 🙂
