Today I opened My GRL to page 121 and with my eyes closed pointed to the page. My finger landed near the word margaritas. This is our prompt today.
Margaritas by John W. Howell © 2025
“You know if you drink too much of that, you might fall.”
“Yeah, but it tastes so good.”
“Me, I can’t get past the salt on the rim.”
“You have to brush it off.”
“And that lime juice can be a little sour.”
“Oh, come on. There is enough agave nectar in there to offset the lime.”
“Only if it is made right.”
“Well, I’ve been coming to this place a long time, and they make them right.”
“I like the orange hint.”
“That’s a full measure of orange liqueur talking.”
“The cocktails out on the patio aspect of this place is nice.”
“Yeah. Fresh air and margaritas. Can’t beat it. I could spend the rest of the day with this glass.”
“You know, we do have to get back to work.”
“Sadly, I suppose you’re right.”
“Oh, oh.”
“What?”
“That couple is coming over to their table.”
“Means we need to adios. You know how those women scream when they see a bee.”
“I do have a question.”
“Shoot.”
“Do you think the honey tastes like a margarita after we have had a few. sips.”
“Naw. More like orange blossom. Let’s take off before that guy swats us into oblivion.”

Of course they are bees. Why didn’t I think of that? And the salt is necessary for the perfect flavour 😉

I guess the one bee doesn’t get the concept. I did get an insight that the salt makes his feet swell. 😀

Wow, John. This makes me wonder how drunken bees would act, John.

I certainly hope they don’t drink and fly. Thanks, Tim.

ha! I didn’t guess bees! You are so good with this. Ever had a bushwacker? **I’ll have another one of those milkshake things** …that would be the humans talking. 🙄

Never had a bushwacker. If it is anything like a Long Island Iced Tea, I’ll pass. The reason I drink my liquor straight is that I know what I’m getting into.

Smart move, John. Bushwacker has so many things in it and tastes just like a milkshake. People get in so much trouble with these. Long Island Iced Tea…long ago and far away. So good, though.

Yes, so good until they are not. 😀

Another surprise! Bees! And I’m with them – I do like margeritas! My husband makes a drink called a dark and stormy. Another of my favorites.

I used to be a bartender and made a few of those. Dark Rum, Ginger beer, and lime juice.

That’s a picky bee. I was wondering how come someone could bee so picky about some salt and lime but it was a Margerita bee.

As I told Dale the bee confessed that salt made his feet swell

Ha! Ha! I’m always surprised to see what animal (or insect) is going to show up in these posts. I would have never guessed bees. 🙂 Margarita honey would be interesting.

Margarita honey would be interesting at about 9% ABV

Fooled me. I heard salt and was thinking snails from the start.

That would have been good too. Of course, the salt and snail combo might not work well for the snails

I was bound and determined that this one was about humans. Fooled again!

While I love bees, I might have to go to the mat to keep one from slurping my margarita, especially since I make sure to order mine without salt! Great finger point, John!

Thank you, Monika. I have little signs here that say “Buzz off bees.” Keeps them out of my margarita.

I had no idea it was that easy to keep them from getting drunk! Thanks for the tip.
