“So why the long face, Twiggy?”
“Brother. You know I have a droop.”

“Well, yeah, but I thought you looked worried.”
“No. Everything is fine. Thought I would gaze out for a while.”

“What’s out there?”
“A couple of deer mooching carrots off Mom.”

“I like the term mooching. You know I would be upset with them if I liked carrots.”
“I know what you mean. I hope they never develop a taste for kibble.”

” Looks like they have had enough and are exiting to the right.”
“You are very observant today. You even got the direction right.”

Seems a little lonely when they go.”
“I agree. I know I called them moochers, but it is nice to see them in the morning.

“Hey, look at that. Some wise guy is driving down the street.”
“Yeah. He’s not allowed to do that without a bark.”

“How do we get down from here?”
“Just follow my lead. Don’t get ahead of me.”

“Okay, I’m right behind you.”
“Just point your nose down the stairs and let it rip.”

“Wow. That wasn’t as hard as I thought.”
“The rule is nose before butt.”
“I got it. By the way. Did Mom paint this room? It looks yellow.”
“Yeah, I noticed. Nope, it’s just the lamp reflection off the white walls. There is probably a filter for that, but you know Dad.

Ahh, your lovely girls, John. We hope you get a date for Twiggy soon. Much love to you all. Xxx ❤️

These are some especially appealing photos of the girls. For the first time, seeing them paired like that, I imagined them with the names Salt and Pepper — but it’s far too late for a change!

Oh, I don’t know. Many times they ignore their given names, so maybe we can change it up. 😀

Just a running commentary from two dogs looking out the window… Oh, John…something needs to be done about the lighting? 😂 I wonder if my cats are this observant? 😹

PS I really like that chest the girls are standing on.

My grandfather was a surgeon in the army during World War I. That chest accompanied him to France in 1917-1918, containing all his instruments.

It was actually so early that the lamp interfered. I could have adjusted the yellow out, but the deadline was getting close.

Still the same. We have a surgeon consult on Wednesday.

So sad to see the droop but I am optimistic it will resolve. Great to see the girls together, guarding the castle. They’re pretty cute! Belly rubs to both of them!

Thank you, Noelle. Twiggy feels fine, so there is that. Thanks for the belly rubs.

It’s nice to see the girls watching the deer from inside and not barking at them.

Since we opened the window observation point, they don’t bark at the deer.

Funny the girls came around to a food moocher but bark at vehicles. Nice to see their sweet faces today. Sending them big ol’ belly rubs.

Twiggy still gives cars and trucks the St Louis destination bark-a-thon. Twiggy not so much. Thanks for the belly rubs, Staci.

Gee, a welcoming committee! You young ladies are on to something here… did you ever think of renting yourselves out to be professional greeters or even home security?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I think the home security function would fit them best, especially if someone is allergic to barks. 😀

No painting here, Dale. These guys love to gaze at the world. I will keep you posted. She has a surgeon consult next Wednesday. We should have a schedule after that. 😊

I have a couple of trunks like that, but they’re about a hundred years old. My pup isn’t allowed to walk on them!
LikeLiked by 1 person
This one is 110 years. My Grandfather, who was a surgeon in World War I, shipped his instruments to France in this trunk. It was built in 1915.

The dogs are gentle with it? Or you simply know how to repair their travels? Mine are all from relatives moving. No one makes trunks like ours anymore except as decorative pieces.

We have a pad to cover the top. It was being repaired from Tempeste, trying to rip a hole. The wood is oak and almost indestructible .

“So, Why the long face Twiggy”..funny but not nice Tempest. It is great that you saw deer in the neighborhood. You can see a lot though the window.

Twiggy and Tempeste, I adore how the 2 of you get along. There’s a couple of pics of you 2, side by side, gazing out the window that are simply wonderful.
Yellow walls? Filters? Don’t bother dad with all that! I love the yellow walls. It looks antique and romatic.
Okay, be good this week!
