Today, we are heading to the Lakeway City Hall to view an art show by Larry Bishop. We are catered by Garrison’s of Austin. Our entertainment is Linda Ronstadt and the Eagles.
Menu

Dear John
The art is a bit between Impressionism and van Gogh. It’s not a style we like. Nevertheless, thanks for showing
The Fab Four of Cley
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Always happy to at least show what is going on. Thanks for the visit, F4oC. Wishing you a pleasant week.

The artist has a very distinctive style. I like them all.
Now can I have the lamb, please?

You can have the lamb with pleasure. 😀

What a talent. Enjoyed all, but especially ‘Dawn’. Linda R/Eagles were terrific. What talents. The ribeye, please.

You might need another person to help you with the ribeye. Thanks for the visit, Steve. Glad you enjoyed.

What an all around wonderful post, John. I would have been onboard for the pan roasted grouper alone (ages since I’ve had that fish), but I very much enjoyed seeing these paintings. The water scenes felt particularly refreshing. Linda AND the Eagles? How could I resist? Big hugs!

I couldn’t find a song about art that I hadn’t already played, so I picked one I love. I’m glad you liked it.

Sewing is a kind of art (silver threads). Besides, I’ve always loved the Eagles. Plus Linda Ronstadt is one of my favorites for singing Karaoke! 😉

I’ll bet you do a good job, too. My daughter and family love Karaoke. We had a night while I was there. My stuff is Johnny Cash and Elvis.

Wow, that sounds like a terrific night. Karaoke is a great way to get rid of stress. ❤

I like these all, John. There’s a lot of talent on display here, particularly his ability to capture light and reflections. I love the way he brings the water and stormy nights to life.
I’ll have the grouper and charred cabbage.

It’s impressive that Lakeway set up an exhibit of Larry Bishop’s artwork in City Hall. The paintings are a fine display of his talent. Linda Ronstadt’s song is really nice.

I always enjoy your neighborhood art shows. The water movement in many of them is quite exceptional and I’ll study them to see if I can duplicate on some of my own art.

Mahogany Road and all the water scenes have to come home with me… well, perhaps NOT the wet parking lot…

I think that lot is the local Home Depot. Looks like it anyway.

So much to like about these works of art! I especially appreciate Norway Rapids, South Garden, and Coldwater Creek, but Bayside Getaway looks like an ideal writer’s retreat. Guess I’m leaning toward water things this day!

Those are beauitful paintings and no glare. Avoiding including the frames was a good idea.

Larry’s art is absolutely lovely. Thank you for sharing these, John!
These are the best pics you’ve take of art that I can recall.
Was there glass over the paintings?
A wonderful trip to the Lakeway City Hall!

I took the photos from a distance to avoid lamp glare. Then I cropped the frames off and, by adjusting the vertical and horizontal settings, could achieve an aspect ratio that resembled a head-on shot, even though the work was at an eight-foot level. There was no glass, but the frames themselves had a significant glare. I’m so pleased you liked the shots since you are a master. Thanks for letting me know. 🐂 🐂 🐂 🐂

Ahh, even with no glass, you had to resort to “technique”.
Good on you! Yes, taking images that are higher than one, is difficult.
I’ve climbed many fire escapes, and snuck up on porches or steps.

Thanks for the tour, John. The paintings are lovely, such vivid colors and texture. I’ll have the pan-roasted grouper, please. It’s a favorite of mine, but one that neither Greg nor I have gotten the knack of cooking groups as well at home as we’d get in a restaurant. And that song is one of my favorites!

Fish is one of those things that takes some skill. Restaurants certainly have it. Thanks, Marie.

I love these paintings. I was feeling a tad Van Gogh-ish with several of them, including my favorite, the cat. What a lovely tour, and made all that much better with some redfish and a Voodoo!
