Yes, another miscellaneous view of the neighborhood. Today, we are going to see which holiday decorations are going up after Thanksgiving. They are still few and far between, but there are some. We are catered by the Launderette of Austin. Our Entertainment is Katrina and the Waves.
Menu
CAPPELLETTI – ricotta, taggiasche olive, anchovy, oven-dried tomato, guindilla pepper, basil
TEXAS REDFISH – Old Bay beurre blanc, broccolini, trout roe, crispy garlic
PLANCHA BURGER – American cheese, special sauce, pickles, challah
BRICK CHICKEN – aligot, braised greens
FLAT IRON STEAK – Texas wagyu, eggplant raita, tarka oil, kachumber salad
STICKY PORK RIBS – hoisin glaze, gochugaru, kimchi jeow som, scallion
WHOLE BRANZINO – sliced almond, preserved lemon, herbs

The bus is ready.

Tempeste and The Producer came across these vine snapdragons while walking in the park.

The Axis deer makes an appearance. It is rumored that he is an escapee from a big game farm.

It seems the doe is taken with the Axis deer, but her boyfriend is not so enamored.

A potpourri post is not complete without some trash. Looks like the chase lounge has had it.

Here is a happy holiday pair.

The spirit of the season.

Of course, the Halloween house is making a transition.

These hologram-looking decorations are always interesting to see.

Since these guys went up after Halloween, I don’t think this is a transition.

This mailbox topper is in direct line with a rotating decoration closer to the house. Had to include it.

This doe seems to be asking, “Who the heck are those guys?” Or maybe trying to warn of an apocalyptic deer invasion

The Producer’s begonia.

The Producer’s Bougainvillea and herbs.
Time now for good food and music. I hope you have a wonderful week.

The menu is fantastic as always, and I’m truly envious of the wildlife in Lakeway. Here in the countryside, you don’t see or do much deer (except as Sunday roast ;-/). I wish you a wonderful first Advent. xx Michael

We got several inches of snow yesterday, so I enjoyed seeing something blooming–along with that unusual deer.

We can enjoy the blooms for a few more weeks until a hard freeze. Thanks, Joy.

I am a fan of the deer (holographic or not) while we do not have as many so bold as to hang out in our yards, once in a while, they will wander around the corner from the park and stroll down the center of the street.

That must be a beautiful sight. 😊

Wow, that Axis deer is gorgeous. Look at those antlers! Always something interesting in your neighborhood.
I don’t think I’ve ever has Texas redfish so I’ll try that!

A lovely potpourri, John. The Producer has some lovely blooming plants and that vine Snapdragon was a lovely surprise. Love the color!

The plants look great. The roses are fading. I took a photo of them but they just looked so sad I didn’t use it. The vine Snapdragon was a surprise to me as well. Thanks, Monika.

We have our share of homes “in transition” from Halloween to Christmas, John. Makes me laugh, especially when the Yuletide stuff comes out and the Hallowtide items have not been taken back in yet. Pretty wild stuff. Enjoyed the views!

The landscapers around here have just put in the snapdragons and pansies, so winter clearly is on the way. That axis was quite a surprise. I’ve seen them in the hill country on high fence places, but nowhere else. I suspect ‘escapee’ is the right word!

There is a game farm near here. So I’m sure that’s where he came from.

The deer are gorgeous. I’m happy there are escapees from the game .. place.
Next to the deer, your flowers are the best.
Thanks John!

The doe is thinking invasion of the body snatchers! “Who are these robotic people who look like me but are not like me!” Haha, great deer shots! I’m ignoring the menu, though, because I’m already into the no raw this or that, no seeds, no nuts, no corn, etc.

Good luck on your no raw and thanks for the visit.

That Axis deer is impressive. With the size of his antlers, I think the doe’s boyfriend is in trouble if he decides to fight the axis deer over the doe. It’s nice that some people are decorating this early in the season. It’s the same here.

What a collection! The Halloween House must have a full basement to store their decorations. The O in Joy is quite grumpy. I like the hologram deer. And who doesn’t like blooming flowers in late November? Best to you, John.

So glad you liked the post, Jennie. I see what you mean about grumpy in the O. Check again, it is Mary (on the left) and Joseph (on the right). We love the flowers and hope we can keep them until January.

I did check closely when I first saw the post. Yes, it’s Mary and Joseph, but from a distance it looks grumpy. I guess I see so much in art. Keep those flowers going!
