Here’s what was outside. Meanwhile inside.

“The puma makes a preemptive strike on the panther.”
“The panther is ready.”

“The puma does the famous step over maneuver.”
The panther does a kung fu kick, which takes the puma off guard.”

“The puma decides a clutch hold will work best.”
“The panther works to break the hold.”

“The puma brings the panther to the floor.”
“The panther prepares for another lunge.”

“The puma lets out a terrific roar.”
“The panther bares her sharp, shiny teeth.”

“The puma defends against the attempt at a choke hold.”
“The panther prepares to toss the puma to the mat.”

“The puma breaks away and does the defensive roll.”
“The panther follows up for the kill.”

“The puma grabs the panther in the death squeeze.”
“The panther begins to laugh since the death squeeze seems more like a hug.”

“The puma joins the laughter.”
“That was great, Twiggy. We should do this more often.”
“I agree, but like everything, the time has to be right.”
“Yeah, like when there is ice and snow outside.”

Love it when a death squeeze turns into a hug! It makes that inside time more bearable.

Whoops. So sorry. I didn’t get enough coffee today. Thanks for being kind, Linda.

As long as you don’t mix up ‘Twiggy’ and ‘Tempeste,’ it’s all good. I wouldn’t want to be around if that happened!

Ha ha ha. Like every parent, I have yelled “Twiggy” at Tempeste. Tempeste only shrugs at that miscue.

Rolling on their back, laughing–so cute! And I do love the death squeeze as a hug. You got way more snow than we did. Good day for the girls to stay in and hug. I mean death squeeze. 😂

They are staying close to the heat. Thanks, Lois

If only kids’ death squeezes turned to hugs as often. In my experience, that’s not usually the case. So glad the girls made such an easy transition from wrestling. And very glad you’re all safe and warm. Sending them ear scratches.

Thank you for the vist and ear scratches, Staci. They love both. 😊

They are so cute when they play fight! It gives them a good work out too.

It does. They love to do it. While Twiggy was ill, it didn’t happen, so it is nice to see them do it again.

LOL! I laughed out loud with the death hold. It did look more like a hug. That was a delightful read, John. I forget parts of TX get snow from time to time. You may have even shoveled more snow that I have all winter! It’s been very mild here this winter. Most of us are missing the snow…not the shoveling it though. 😊

We usually get snow only once a year. In the panhandle, it is much more. Thanks, Deborah.

Maybe they need to cool off for a bit in the snow, John. I do like that it ended with a hug.

Yes, they usually have a nice session in the end. Thanks, Dan

They look like they are having fun – hard to take their ‘battle’ seriously. And I love it when they roll over on their backs – submissive to each other? Never a dull moment with those two!
Belly rubs to both and thanks for another great post!

They’re lucky they have each other to rumble with! Be careful on that ice, John. We got plenty of snow, which likely won’t melt anytime soon since we’re way below the freezing mark, but at least no ice. Ending a good rumble with a hug is perfect!

Thank you, Debbie. We are looking for a high of 60 degrees today. That will take care of the snow.

My goodness, it is great to be able to live vicariously, for those of us who do not dare roll around on the floor like this (not if we expect to get up without mechanical aids). Carry on young ladies! xx

Thank you, Miss Annette. Our Dad has trouble on the floor, too, so we know how it is. 😊

Loved the pictures. Do they like going out in the snow ?

Tempeste loves the snow. She will get a piece of ice and chase it around the yard. Twiggy will tolerate going out in it, but not to play. Strictly business

I always worry when dogs ‘play fight,’ particularly when there’s growling involved. But they know exactly what they’re doing – having a grand old time. Must be a shock with the snow out there! Two feet of it here. But dogs love bouncing around in it. Twiggy and Tempeste would be lost forever. 🙂

A real collie shangle, all caught on camera! John, that was bang up to the elephant. It gave me a giggle mug that will last all day! 😀 😉 I kept imagining the sound of the camera click, click, clicking — great shots. Thanks for letting us in on the fun. Big hugs.

Love when they play panther and the puma. You see how happy they are. The French know how to have a good time. It’s in their DNA.

You, the pups and I arrived at the same conclusion about it more resembling a hug. 😍
