Friday JohnKu – TGIF

Friday finally. Hope your week was a good one. I was sorry to see both daughter and granddaughter leave and as usual the visit was way too short. All is back to normal and the house is quiet again. Can’t say this is a good thing, but it is what normal sounds like. I suppose if the two lived here full-time I would be happy to see them take a trip. All I can do is watch the airplane lift off and look forward to the next time. Daughter did leave the grand dog with us as she takes care of some travels where dogs aren’t welcome. I know she will be back soon. Granddaughter is going off to Mexico for a year. I know she won’t have the opportunity to return for at least that length of time. This week’s JohnKu (term coined by Words4jp) reflects a bit of lonely.

Time to Go…. By John W. Howell

Leaving time creeps in,

While laughter rings throughout home…

Switches smile with frown.

The grand dog came pre-spoiled much like its owner. (our doing so we deserve the second generation spoiled personality)

it’s so hard to say goodbye to loved ones. I just visited my parents in Wisconsin. We rely on phone calls. 🙂

At least you’ve got the dog for company John. A year in Mexico sounds like a fun experience. Your granddaughter will certainly be pretty good at Spanish by the end of it, if she is not already.

You gots a grandpuppy? (I call all dogs puppies) I look forward to reading a Johnku about this…

I find it very disheartening when my boys leave – even though they are not gone for long – though it was a bit of a challenge for me when Jordan went away to college. It is the quiet. i hate the quiet. When the boys or boy leaves, it is just Pee and myself and the quiet just gets to me. i hope you have fun with your grandpup and that your family has a wonderful trip. 🙂

The grand pup is evaluating weather or not she will have fun with me. So far it is touch and go.

I have a huge frown building for next month, when my little girl leaves me for college. And you are so right, it’s the smiles you have to keep to. Because they’re the places that keep you warm inside the lonely. I’ll take your Buble (gladly) and raise you a Queen. And thank you, Sheriff.
