Friday is finally here. I don’t know about you, but it seemed to be a pretty long week. I was full of productivity this week. I got my manuscript for His Revenge off to the editor. I will be holding my breath until the surgical procedure is finished. I also launched a cover design contest and so far the covers look amazing. My last beta readers checked in and between being too busy and having computer troubles I learned a lesson about reliability. In spite of some participation disappointments, the beta results were very good, and I’ll run with what I have. The beta reader situation gave rise to this week’s JohnKu. It is about expectation and I hope you enjoy it.

Reaching out for help,
The expectation runs high. . .
Trumped by agenda.

Congratulations on getting your manuscript off to the editor, John! Relax and enjoy the weekend. You deserve it.

Congrats. Have a fun weekend. For some reason my eyes went right to the last line of the poem.

Not surprised. You have had that issue yourself. The agenda is not our own and thereby in lies the disappointment.

Yup. Eh, what can you do? 🙂

I relate to the JohnKu… Congrats on this milestone with “His Revenge.” I know you’ve done a lot of work to get that far.
My new boss (well his boss gets to act like my boss too…) was on vacation all week (and 2 days last week) so I’ve had a pretty good week; a little less stress. Have a fabulous Friday!

Always nice to see the boss have a vacation. Of course, when they come back they always act as if their vacation was also your vacation. Have a great weekend.

I’m sorry to hear you had some disappointments in your beta readers, but you’re right, we have no control over other people’s time. I know with myself I can have the best of intentions but so many things beyond my control can upend them. So this is the final book in the trilogy that’s off to the editors? That is truly cause to celebrate 🙂 Have a great weekend, John.

This is the second book. The final is done but has to be staged after the second.

Seems like a beta reader who doesn’t come through as promised is a beta reader you didn’t need. Small favors!

Btw, I have a new beta reader that is finding more of my errors than the editor I’m paying. Arrrgghhh! First time I used him though and it looks like I won’t be using him again.

Yeah, it’s not good. I’ll let you know how my editor performs. Might give you a lead on the next one.

Ha, the text in the pic reminded me of your Ten Things not to do posts. And yeah, good beta readers are hard to come by. There should be beta reader register. 😀
