Gorgeous flowers, John. We saw lots of them growing wild on Dominica when we spent Chriatmas there a few years ago; those, poinsettias and other flowers we normally only see in pots or hothouses.

Yes. We love our “birds” since they are about the only thing that does well in the salt air (hibiscus as well)

Beautiful, John. It’s lovely to see something growing where here, everything is dying.
Incidentally, every time I hear the phrase “birds of paradise” I get a song stuck in my head…
“May a bird of paradise fly up your nose,..”

Lucky that you have plants like that during winter.

Cool that you can grow those outside where you are. Right now all I have is a Christmas cactus, and it’s inside.

They look great, John. I’d love them, but I don’t think they’d survive in the Hill Country.
    Cheers,

I love Birds of Paradise, John. It’s gloomy and raining here, so thanks for ray of sunshine.

    Stunning and a wonderful treat.
We have misplaced December. Seems the calendar thinks it’s spring. Everything has gone to sleep in preparation for snow, but is nowhere to be found. 🙂

True, later by the sounds of it. It’s not that I like the cold or snow–northern girl that I am. 😀

Very nice! I have Desert Bird of Paradise that do well in South Texas. And today feels like early spring instead of almost the first day of winter.
