Thursday – Little Personal #JusJoJan

I was in the backyard watching the dogs and under cloudy skies saw a couple of sights that made me smile. We can always count on seeing a brown heron or pelican on the beach. A Great Blue Heron is something not often seen. So imagine my surprise when this guy wandered into the scene.

He stayed around a while and seemed content with doing his robust fishing in a fresher water supply. Then a group of his white feathered friends swooped down and started working the grass.

  1. It’s the opposite up north. I see Great Blue Herons, at least what I think they are, but I never see Pelicans. They never even accidentally wander up north. They are obviously very wise birds.

  2. Oh wow beautiful. I am robustly jealous :-). I used to go for a walk at a river in Germany and often saw one of his grey brothers or sisters. Herons are so beautiful 🙂
