Stream of Consciousness Saturday – Prompt “Odd/Even”

a new socs-badge-2015

Stream of Consciousness Saturday time again. This week’s prompt is “Odd/Even.” Linda Hill says we can use them any way we want. This concession is good since if we had to use them together, it might be a problem. If you would like to participate in the madness here is the link  Here’s mine.

Odd/Even by John W. Howell © 2016

“Did you hear that?”

“I think so. It sounded odd didn’t it?”

“Odd? It sounded like a gunshot. That’s what it sounded like.”

“Oh, I don’t think so.”

“I’m telling you it was a gunshot. Any fool can recognize a shot when it goes off.”

“Well I’m not a fool, and I don’t think it was a gunshot.”

“For heaven’s sake. Let’s just drop it then.”

“Why drop it? You called me a fool.”

“I said any fool could tell it’s a gunshot. You couldn’t tell, so you’re no fool.”

“Hmm. I’m thinking you’re pulling a fast one here.”

“I’m not doing anything.”

“Any fool can see you are twisting things.”

“So now you are calling me a fool. I don’t see how I’m twisting things.”

“No. I just said any fool could see you are twisting things. If you don’t see it, then you’re not a fool.”

“I would say now we are even.”

“Both fools you mean?”

  1. LOL. That was a great way to end this one, John. Mega hugs!

    1. Thank you. We hear its been snowing for 18 hours in Washington. Hope you have a substantial inventory of tea. Stay warm.

      1. Tea, coffee, and I had just gotten my biweekly grocery order. I’m well stocked… with one woeful exception… I might not have enough wine! 😀

      2. OMG. Wine is a staple. I hope you can hold out. Do you need a dog team rescue?

  2. I had a hard time working even into this. Nicely done John!

    1. What’s on second

      1. I don’t know is on third.

      2. What is happening with tomorrow?

      3. Have to admit that I forgot the next line, but I think we’ve been all over the place here.

      4. Yes. We should leave it to the pros.

  3. Nicely done, John!

    1. Thanks, Jill. Have a nice weekend

  4. I prefer to watch your madness unfold, John.
    It’s delightful.

    1. Madness is a perfect noun.

  5. You had me going with the “any fool” means you’re not a fool argument. Imma use that one, it’s very clever.

  6. Would you call this guy a peacemaker? Ha ha.
    Great kibitzing. 😀

    Confusing before bed time 😉

    1. I know. Need wine to read.

      1. Bee Halton · ·

Oh, it was wine???? And I thought a cup of tea would do 😉

      2. Wine make the words make sense.

  8. John, any fool can see both of them were fools! Am I calling you a fool? No, any fool can see! Whoa! Your SOC is remarkable! Tomorrow is in the outfield, or tomorrow is not here yet! I don’t remember that one either. 🤔Have a great weekend! Elizabeth

    1. Ha ha ha. Thanks.

  9. Somehow this conversation reminded me of a couple of politicians – could have been from either party! Well done!

    1. Yes I think so. Thanks.

  10. Well done John. 🙂 — Suzanne

    1. Thank you, Suzanne.

  11. Enjoyable read, John!

  12. The odds of a fool like me even understanding this post are slim at best.
