Friday has arrived. Only about twelve more hours until margarita time. It has been a rewarding week. Got into the fourth book edits after a long rest from that document. WHAT WAS I THINKING WHEN I WROTE THAT? is a question I have asked quite a few times. I actually finished the rough draft of the manuscript in May of 2015. There are a few places where I can’t really recall what mindset caused me to write a particular passage the way it came out. Whatever it was my edit brain now has to correct my artist brain output. I guess we all get into this situation now and then. I don’t know about you but sometimes I read some of my stuff and wonder who wrote it. I guess that’s what happens when you are on the run to finish something. When you are in the moment to come back later and read what you’ve written can be a surprise. This is the subject of my JohnKu today.

Words in Black and white,
Laid out emotionally. . .
Author is surprised.

LOL. That’s cute John. Only a writer understands! 🙂 My Friday enthusiasm is muted, since it’s my every-other-Friday to work. But at least my boss isn’t there. Heck, I’ll have most of a 9 story building to myself. Somehow that makes the Who’s Teenage Wasteland play in my head… 😀 Mega hugs.

LOL. For some reason I think you’ll have a great day by yourself. Take care. 🙂

Wishing you luck!
Likewise, I’m also counting down the hours until margarita time! The kids have an inset day… So it’ll be needed! 😂

I’ve been seeing those during my edits. I think the ‘this is going to be awesome!’ mentality gets me into trouble. I get so into the pictures in my head that I don’t make much sense when writing it.

I know right? It’s like “Seemed like a good idea at the time.”

A few weeks ago I started reading Clemency, the novel from 2014 NaNoWriMo. I’m definitely having a LOT of WTF moments 😉 Have a great day, a great weekend and enjoy that margarita!

This has been a long week John. Could we call an early end today? Maybe step margarita time up to around 3:00?

Dan Brown must get this feeling all the time John. Fortunately you’ve got the opportunity to revisit your manuscript. Enjoy the margarita. Have a good weekend.

Happy Friday and margarita time. I know what you mean. Do you sometimes wonder if your fingers are purposely defying your brain’s signals and pushing for a revolt. 😀 😀 😀

Well said, John! I remember doing the same thing in some boring class after lunch — taking notes that, afterward, aren’t even legible, much less meaningful. Happy Friday!

I’m quite often in the opposite situation; when I read something I wrote a while ago I think “Wow, that’s great, did I actually write that?”
It’s only when I go back to stuff I posted when I first started writing that I cringe at some of the phrasing and structure.

The other side happens as well. To me not as much.
