My apologies in advance for a somewhat random post. I began the day with the desire to put up some pictures of a few of the unusual ways businesses attract customers. We have our share of sharks and Octopuses, but there are a few others. As I was heading out, I happen to catch a photo of a gray heron in our backyard. He wanted to pose so I thought what the heck. Here he is.

Then walking on the beach, I came across this bouquet of flowers. My imagination took hold, and I decided a brokenhearted lover who lost his true love to a boating accident made a visit to the beach and brought her a gift. Well, that’s my version maybe you have one of your own.

Finally, I turned my concentration to the project at hand, unusual ways to attract customers. The first I call, “shower your customers.”

Yes, that is a waterfall over the entrance of the shop. One does not get wet going inside but the potential is certainly there.
This next shot is a new RV resort in town. Oh yes, we need another RV resort almost like we need a case of black mold. If the resort isn’t enough, check the anchor out front.

Yup. That’s Day-Glo pink. So in keeping with the environment. (not) The next photo is also an abundance of pink but done in the style of the island.

Gratitude is a gift shop that uses pink to the ultimate, and it works.
Hope you like the views this week. I’ll leave you with a quiz.

What do bikinis, flip-flops, and sunglasses all have in common? Give up? They are all disposable at these prices. Have a good week.

Colorful and cheerful fare for a holiday, John. 🙂 — Suzanne

Fun Sunday morning stroll around the neighborhood John. Thanks for taking us with you. The heron is quite handsome and your setting there is simply gorgeous. No wonder he came to visit.
The flowers– First — you old softy. But it does seem like a strange thing; expensive flowers too. Maybe your story is true. Or maybe a proposal rejected.
Have a sublime Sunday. Mega hugs

I must say, John, you live in the most colorful area that I’ve ever seen. That first photograph is so beautiful! I’m curious, what is the Palace? Happy Sunday!

The Palace is a curio shop and surf shop rolled into one.

That is a lot of pink. Guessing disposable bikinis is a Spring Break thing.

Good morning, John,
And thanks for taking us around the neighbourhood again. Quite interesting pictures! 🙂
I love to take pictures of the birds, especially the herons [http://tinyurl.com/gw4erf9], but also the pelicans and seagulls, in Port A, too.
That bouquet of flowers on the beach is really something!
Sorry to hear about another RV park. 😦 The beach will become more and more crowded. What a pity. My wife still fondly remembers what it was like in the 50s, when her parents took her there.
As to the last picture: that reminded me of one your previous postings, of all that trash on the beach. Those cheap items will only add to that, unfortunately.
Well, let’s think more of the great sights to be seen in Port A.
Have a wonderful Sunday,
Pit

American bedach culture’s always so ‘interesting’! LOL I guess in Texas it really has to be bigger and better – I think your neighbourhood’s pretty spiffy, John 😉

Thanks for the tour, John. I’ll skip the free piercing from the $4.99 bikini store but everything else works for me.

John, I look forward to your Sunday posts and a stroll around your neighborhood. The flowers puzzle me. Nothing like that blooms in sand, so they had to be brought in. As to why? Maybe somebody had a four-wheel crash on that spot? Or maybe some parents buried a child’s pet? Or maybe that’s where “she” said “no” to his proposal, and he left the bouquet to mark the spot? Nah, your explanation sounds better — let’s go with that!
