It has been a while since I gave you an update on Peggy the Heron. First of all here is a photo of Peggy taken by my wife in our backyard.
She is happy and healthy. Here is another taken on a walk on Monday morning. The sunrise made everything a golden color. As you can see, Peggy is up to her old trick of getting fish from those, who are fishing. I saw that she was given several pieces, so it did pay off.
Peggy has taken to perching on the chimneys of various houses in the neighborhood. I guess she has an advantaged view from up there.

Here is the last photo. It was taken yesterday catching Peggy as she was approaching the Gulf.
All the photos were taking within a two-week period so you can tell Peggy gets around.
Fiction Favorites 
Peggy is beautiful, and your wife is an amazing photographer to capture her as she did. We had nesting ducks next to our home last year and grew quite attached. You would have thought the ducklings were our own.

Haha. Peggy is wonderful. Thanks for the update. This is a charming idea for a post, John. I was thinking those very words, before I read your last statement — Peggy definitely gets around! I know the heron will have a thriving Thursday, and I hope you and your wife have a thriving Thursday too. Mega hugs.

Since my “escape plan” for October didn’t work out, I’ll be having many scattered days off for the next 2 months, for “use or lose” leave. No complaints about that! Thrive on.

They do. I caught one guy throwing sticks at her. He complained that she was trying to take his bait. I told him to give her a piece of bait and she will leave him alone. Either that I went on or explain to the conservation police why he shouldn’t be charged with a felony abuse of a wild animal charge. He gave her a piece of bait.

Are you sure she’s a she?? I mean, how does one tell with a heron? Regardless, Peggy is splendid! I’m not sure the herons in Gulfport ever perch atop chimneys, so Peggy is also brave. And yes, she’s active!!
