Views of the Neighborhood

It is time to change my header on Fiction Favorites. I have some photos that could be in contention for the job. Rather than me making the selection, I thought it might be fun to show you the candidates and let you choose the most favored. There is a poll at the bottom for you to use to record your choice. So here they are. One thing that struck me as I lined these photos up was how different the same position on the beach (looking East) is in reality

The first is a long shot of a stormy day. Candidate #1

As always, thank you for your help. The winner will be posted on the header next week.

All the pictures are beautiful but you want a header that is completely different from what you have now. Just my opinion.

Good point. I keep coming back to the East shot of the water and maybe in the spring I should go to something else. The Gulf is a very big part of who I am. Maybe I’m too close to my pal. Thanks, Pam. 🙂

Good morning, John. This was fun. While I get another cup of coffee, here — have a piece of cinnamon toast.
Definitely the sunrise! What better representation for a new year than a sunrise. It has the bold contrast of light/dark plus the drama of the clouds (but with out the risk of the storm situation. It looks like a glorious day ahead. My second choice would be the cold day blowing sand. The shades of blue are pretty and the sand is interesting.
Have a sublime Sunday. Mega hugs.

You make the best cinnamon toast. Thank you. I like the idea of looking forward to a glorious day. That blowing sand photo was taken Saturday morning. It was really cold. Hugs.

2 seems more eye-catching without the very bright spots.

The problem when you try to take a shot East is those bring spots are continually a problem. Thanks, Charles.

No problem. Makes sense with the direction. Still you got a great sunbeam shot.

I love #2. I’ve always liked sun ray pictures as they give me a sense of hope on the horizon. It’s soft and simple, yet eye-catching.

Thank you, Susan. I have been fascinated by the rays as well. The Gulf displays the sun so well.

Okay, John, now I know how busy you are (and how much of an aggravation redesigning can be!), but I’m going to offer a suggestion. How about using ALL of these candidates? Not at the same time, of course, but maybe rotating them out monthly or whenever you feel the need for something different? Don’t shoot me!!

No that is a good idea. I have been neglectful of my header. I used to do it once a quarter. Great idea, Debbie. Thanks. 🙂

Although I liked #2 a lot, I preferred #3 because it is different, I love the colours – it grabbed my attention more than the others. Have fun with the voting – a great idea, Mr. John!
