Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

Funny Friday

This week was interesting. I finished up the final edit on My GRL. Now on to formatting (yay). The formatting should be complete by this time next week. I had a super promotion on Our Justice. I ran two separate media events. The EReader News Today event was far and away the most successful. The BookGoodies event produced a few sales, but the ENT success was in the scale of ten to one sales over BookGoodies. I purposely left the price of Our Justice at $0.99 for both events so I could get an accurate comparison. The cost of the events was $40 for ENT and $25.00 for BookGoodies. Regarding efficiency, there is no question ENT is the most efficient. I will say BookGoodies did produce a bump in sales which other programs have not. I’m still in the dark about what works. I will keep trying, though. Today’s JohnKu talks about trying different things until you find the best solution. Have a great weekend.

I always enjoy the morning chuckle, JohnKu…and good advice. Hope you have a great weekend and are spared the pirate’s fate. 🙂

    1. Arggg matey. I have grown older and wiser. So yes I have learned not to walk the plank. Thanks, Gwen. Enjoy the weekend.

  2. Congratulations on the success you’ve had, John. I love the picture. 🙂 — Suzanne

    1. I know right? I happen to like Johnny Depp a lot. (well…you now what I mean) 😀

  3. Good advice and congrats on the successful promos. Enjoy the weekend.

    1. Thanks, Charles. Yu as well. 🙂

  4. Never give up, right? Happy Friday, John!

    1. In a nut shell, Jill. Thank you. 😀 Have a lovely Friday as well. Pizza night woo woo.

      1. Yes. Red wine too! Double Yum

      2. Excellent! Cheers!

  5. You’re chugging right along Sheriff. 😀

    1. Thanks, Pilgrim. “Shakin’ the bushes boss.”

  6. Another great Johnku.
Thanks for including the feedback and pricing about the events, John. That’s valuable insight. Since I have zero time for marketing, in this my “grand experiment in indie” I’ve done extremely little that I have to purchase. But for $40…. maybe I’ll opt in for something like that… maybe when I have all three of Pip’s serials “book-ized.”
Have a fabulous Friday. Mega hugs.

    1. I think you would do well. Have a fantastic Friday, Teagan. Hugs

  7. Great picture this morning, John! Hope those sales continue!

    1. Usually fall off the cliff but thanks for the wish. 😀

  8. Thanks for sharing your findings regarding the promotion opportunities. I’ll have a look!

    1. I have found ENT to be far and away the best vehicle. Your book needs approval by their staff which usually entails 10 or more reviews at the four star level.

  9. Ahar! I like the cut o’ yer jib, Jolly John! 😀 Master Depp’s a lightweight in comparison! 😉

    1. Ha ha ha. Thanks, Jan.

  10. Book marketing sort of feels like throwing darts at a moving target, huh, John?! At any rate, thank you for testing these two avenues and letting us know how they’ve played out. Love your JohnKu this morning … and seeing Mr. Depp atop your post was a real treat! He makes such a fine pirate!

    1. He is the best Pirate. Thanks Debbie. I liked the dart analogy. Perfect.

  11. Thanks for sharing this with us, John! Happy Friday! 🙂

    1. You are welcome, Natalie. Happy weekend.:-)

  12. Marketing is always a mystery… Heck, I am having a hard enough time giving my writing away. 🙂

    1. I know right? it is a jungle.

  13. Thanks for the info about the promo sites – always helpful. Happy Friday, John!

    1. Happy Friday, Teri. By the time it is over (whenever that is) I will have tried everything. 🙂

  14. Interesting. Thanks for providing info on Both ENT and BookGoodies.

    1. You are welcome. 🙂

  15. Nice Johnku and thanks for sharing the info on your promos. I may need to look into doing something with ENT. Happy Friday, John!

    1. They require at least ten reviews and a total of four stars. You would have no problem.

  16. Wonderful news on your promos. Wish you many, many more.

      1. You are welcome, John.
Not sure if you have anything I haven’t commented on today. My Post Comment button has vanished. o_O

  17. I cannot articulate just how much I admire your literary abilities, John.
I doubt I’ll ever be able to do what you do, never mind half as well.
Carry on carrying on, my good friend.

    1. Thank you , Hook. *blush*

  18. America tried
    Sanity and dignity
    Gave it up for Trump

    1. I have to appreciate the Haiku skill here. The real reason Trump was elected is the Congress totally failed in it’s duty to represent the citizens will. As a result the people wanted a change and that is all Trump ran on. He said he would change everything. I now fear we will be in a situation where the Congress will again fail in it’s duty to provide checks and balances. If Trump fails the next level will be for citizens to take the situation into their own hands. The world should pray that that does not happen. So in essence if Trump succeeds in changing things for the better all will be good.

      1. I wouldn’t hold your breath.

      2. Won’t be a pretty picture.

      3. Already isn’t.

  19. Thanks for sharing your book promotion experience John. Pleased to hear it went well.

  20. 🙂 I like that poster! Hope you’re having a good start to the week-end!

    1. Thank you, Deborah. i am for sure. 🙂

  21. Cheers to continued success … and for Friday JohnKu-s being fresh and applicable on Saturdays.

    1. Ha ha ha. Thanks, Frank
