Thursday – A Little Personal – Lucy Lament

Lucy

“Hi, Boss.”

“Hi Lucy. What’s up?”

Lucy

“It’s Stella.”

“What about Stella?”

“She’s making faces at me.”

“Bailey?”

Bailey

“Yes?”

“You notice Stella making faces at Lucy?”

“Not sure.”

“Okay, Lucy go get Stella.”

“Here she is.”

Stella and Lucy

“She’s sound asleep.”

“Yeah well before her nap she did it.”

“Describe it.”

Lucy Stella

“She walked out of the room and gave me a look.”

“You weren’t bothering herΒ were you?”

lucy

“Well?”

“I’m thinking.”

“How about you Stella?”

“Well John, I have to admit, every time I try to go somewhere these two hulks are in my way.”

Stella, Lucy, Bailey

“So you did make a face.”

“Yeah, so what? She had it coming. Excuse me while I take some of your water.”

Stella

“We done here?”

Stella

“Boss?”

“Lucy I have a lot of writing to do.”

“That’s it then?”

“That’s it.”

“Not sure what to say, Boss.”

  1. Aw…my heart is melting. Great photos and dialogue, John…definitely one of my top favorites! Happy Thursday!

    1. Thank you, Jill. πŸ˜€

  2. That darned cat! I’m sure that were there a feline in my house, the conversations with the dogs wouldn’t be fit for publication. Your boxers are so polite β€” as are you, Sir.

    1. Thank you Keith. They both learned early in life that chasing the kitty was off limits. (Not that they haven’t wanted to do it)

  3. Gwen Plano · ·

I’m with Jill…this is one of my favorite postings! And, who wondered if a thriller writer could write a children’s book? Oh, yeah, that was you…. :).

    1. Ha ha ha. I guess it was. Thanks, Gwen. πŸ™‚

  4. LOL. John, you captured the difference in dog attitude and cat-titude well. Thanks for the chuckle. Hugs.

    1. Glad there was a chuckle. Hugs

  5. Love the ‘those two hulks’ line. So, Bailey kind of stats out of the drama?

    1. Yes. Bailey was born calm and avoids all of it.

      1. Smart dog. He probably gets extra treats then. πŸ™‚

      2. This is an equal treat opportunity zone. It is almost impossible to hand out a treat to one with out the other. Can you say pester?

      3. They’re always watching. Surprised they let you eat anything.

      4. Me too. πŸ˜€

  6. Can’t Lucy deal with a little moggy face-pulling on her own? She must have a bark that could send el catto up the curtains.
    Hugs John.Thanks for the smiles.

    1. She does have a bark but needs to feel special too.

  7. These are so much fun.

    1. Thanks, Craig.

  8. Aw, Lucy is so precious. Baily and Stella are cute too. Stella looks torn between lapping up a little water and knocking the glass over just so she can see it spill.

    1. I think that might have been on her mind. Thanks, Dan.

  9. Oh, man, I love this post! Great dialog and the pictures are to die for! Well done, Mr. John!

    1. Thank you, John. So glad you liked it.

  10. Reblogged this on Words To Captivate ~ by John Fioravanti and commented:
Author John Howell entertains us this morning with a chat he had with his two dogs and cat – complete with adorable pictures! Please, treat yourself and read on…

    1. Thank you, John

      1. You’re welcome, John, my pleasure!

  11. I love when you do these. They are so much fun!

And Stella has typical “cattitude” πŸ™‚

    1. She does. Life is soooooo boring. πŸ˜€

      1. I can hear her looking at Lucy and Bailey and thinking….peasants. πŸ™‚

      2. She does for sure.

  12. An all too familiar dialogue. BTW, cats are always making faces.

    1. So true, Greg. Thanks. πŸ˜€

  13. Doggone cats, anyway. Which is why we have 3 cats, 3 humans and no dogs in residence. It’s safer that way. (lol)

    1. We like to mix them up. Never a dull moment. Thanks, Annette.

  14. You should have a regular pet post – love these. And cats are always innocent.

    1. If not then they hire a lawyer.

      1. Ours has one on retainer – his services are required quite often.

      2. I know right. Stella’s lawyer is named Bernard Katz.

  15. That was GREAT! Their faces say it all and your dialogue is the perfect combination. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you, Jan. πŸ™‚

  16. How do you get anything done with all this cuteness around, John?? Having a cat at my house would be a nightmare — the poor thing would hiss itself to death … after Dallas herded it into a corner and feasted the evil eye on it!!

    1. Stella has taught these two to mind their manners. She has a big target in those muzzles.

  17. Lucy and Bailey never stood a chance! LOL πŸ˜€

  18. Pretty cute and funny critters! Stella’s gotta be tough to protect her space.

    1. She does. She even walks tough. Thanks Luanne.

      1. She’s a “live wire” as my mom would say.

      2. Live wire is a perfect description

  19. Poor babies..lol. That Lucy β™‘β™‘β™‘

    1. πŸ˜€ She makes me laugh every day.

    1. πŸ™‚ Thanks, Traci.

      1. You’re welcome!

  20. Hahaha! This cracked me up.

    1. So glad. Thank you.

    1. Thanks, Traci.
