Thursday- A Little Personal – Lucy Returns

“Hi, Boss.”

“Oh, Hi Lucy. How are you doing?”

“Just fine boss. You know Bailey, and I were thinking.”

“Pretty dangerous stuff there, kiddo.”

lucy

“Okay, I was just kidding. What is on your mind?”

“You know when you are on the computer?”

“Like now?”

“Exactly.”

“What about it?”

“We have no one to play with.”

“How about the backyard?”

Lucy

“I don’t know boss. What do you Think Bailey?”

Bailey

“Why do you get me involved in your messes? The back yard is nice.”

Lucy

“She would think it was nice. I was going for more.”

“I know you were, sweetheart. Why don’t you and Bailey go out for a while and I’ll join you later.”

Bailey and Lucy

“Okay. Don’t be long. Wait. Stella is in the way.”

“For heaven’s sake, you outweigh her by 50 pounds.”

“Yeah, but she carries those knives wherever she goes.”

“Be brave buckaroo.”

Stella

“A little bit on honing on these blades and I’ll be ready. Sure Lucy come on ahead.”

“Now Stella. Play nice.”

“This is as nice as I get John.”

I love the 4-legged dialogues. Stella might imagine she rules, but Lucy owns the cameraman – and I suspect he’s the master. 🙂

I think it’s pretty much a cat eat dog world now.

Sounds like most of my writing time. Great post, and a lot of truth here. They just want to hang out with us.

Great dialogue, John. So true to character. We had a nasty little she-cat who could force me and our 100lb mail Irish Setter to back up in the hallway and ask for help. I hope you spend some quality time with Lucy.

Ha ha ha. I can just see you and the Setter cowering in the hallway. 😀

She was a mean little kitty. My wife and daughter could pick her up and holder her, but she didn’t like men.

What handsome hounds – and so smart and erudite, too. My JRT, Trevor, only knows expletives and Eos – Pyrenean Sheepdog, only speaks French so we have no idea what she’s saying.

My two labs and I have had similar conversations (minus the fear of cats). One just dropped a ball on my keyboard and is now curled up beside me on the sofa. They’re so hard to ignore, aren’t they? Good luck getting work done today, John. If your furry friends have anything to say about it, it’s not going to be easy.

Trust Stella to revert to type – cats always boss the dogs about! LOL 😀 Hope Lucy and Baily made it outside OK without too much palaver… 😛

Funny how we must steel ourselves against the cuteness, or our doggies would make sure we never got any work done. Love these conversations, John, and their expressions are priceless!

That’s okay cause she was named so I could do my Brando imitation when I called for her.
