Friday John Ku – AKA – TGIF

Funny Friday

Friday is here and it sure feels good. I’m sure we all could use a little break from the work week. Of course, for those of you who tend to write on the weekends there isn’t a break in work but hopefully a break in routine.

I tend to keep going on the weekends as if there is no day off. I do manage to take a few liberties like a nice IPA on Saturday and some cooking time which I love. For the most part, though, I stick to my 1000 words a day writing schedule.

I still like to see Friday arrive. It has a psychological benefit that may mean reaching the finish line for the week. This week’s John Ku explores this concept a little further. I hope you all have a super weekend.

The beginning step,

Has importance at the front. . .

The finish is sweet.

Every weekend seems to be different for me. I’m retired but things change. I love the dog at the top. He seems to have a playful attitude as though he’s playing with the person taking the photo. Have a great weekend, John. 🙂 — Suzanne

Retirement changes the rhythm a bit, but as you’ve suggested, the work week still seems to carry the weight of achievement. You deserve a few IPAs (my new word) this weekend. Enjoy! 😀

Ha ha ha. I wish a few were in the cards but I only have one. I have to say that in my younger days one would have been the appetizer. Thanks, Gwen

1,000 words a day! You’re a star, John, and inspire me to try and do the same. By the way, I finished your book Circumstance of Childhood. Well Done!!! I reviewed it on Amazon.
Fridays I teach a creative writing class, so I don’t relax until night time, and then it’s a cozy supper at our favorite bar or pizza at home. Like you, I try to write on the weekends also. Happy Writing Weekend to you!

You’re a good writer, John, and tell a good tale. I loved the ‘ghost’ friend, being there, watching and helping as much as he could. I hope (and sometimes believe) that we all have a friendly ghost nearby…

Tonight a chicken dish. (Haven’t looked at the recipe yet) Tomorrow pasta (spaghetti and meatballs), and Sunday Turkey medallions in Sherry sauce.

I’m going to wear shorts and a pocket tee shirt, John. It’s gross outside. 64° but 96% humidity. I have to work outside.

Congrats on sticking to your writing schedule on the weekends, John. It comes as no surprise that your writing/blogging routine continues into the weekend. As a retired person I do the same thing. Enjoy the weekend, good sir!

Those of us who work for ourselves don’t really get time off — even on weekends and holidays — but I try to vary up the routine as you suggested. Kudos for sticking to that 1,000-word-a-day goal — no wonder you’ve already got so many novels written! By the way, I love the peaceful header you’ve changed to!

Thanks Debbie. I took that picture the first morning we were allowed back into our house which was three days after the hurricane. The sunrise was a sign that everything will be okay and there are many new days ahead.
