Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

TGIFAnother Friday is upon us. Unlike last week this one feels like it flew by.  I guess we can never explain from one week to the next why some are quick and some seem to drag.

This week was pretty productive. Gwen and I got the cover for The Contract finalized. There are a few little tweaks left but all in all, it is how we want it. We also received the last of the Beta reads and the suggestions were outstanding. So we are finished with the Beta phase and if our editor is reading, it will be your turn come the first of March. We are now in the process of blurb production and marketing plan development.

Today’s JohnKu talks about what it takes to publish a book. I hope you all have a nice weekend.

A Book by John W. Howell

Looks like just a book,

Behind the words agony…

Forgotten when launched.

  1. I need that type of water cooler. Are they rentals?

    1. Only $5000 for delivery.

      1. Well . . . I’m out.

  2. I want to work at that office.

    1. Wouldn’t is be something?

  3. Is that your office? Happy Friday!

    1. It is in my office. Ha ha ha.

  4. Where do I get a drink dispenser like that?

Happy Friday, John! Congrats to you and Gwen on the great beta feedback.

    1. Thanks, Staci. It has been a wonderful experience.

  5. (after “launched” …. when it is time for a drink …. (and I know that is too many syllables) … Good luck the rest of the way … then have a drink and get your butt in gear for the next one!

    1. Already working on the next. Thank, Frank (I heard that whiplash sound)

  6. Ha! How very true, John. Best wishes to you and Gwen with this joint effort. Hugs.

    1. Thank you, Teagan

  7. I need just such a cooler in this place. Good luck with the book, John.

    1. Thanks, Dan. 🙂

  8. Gwen Plano · ·

Great JohnKu and so true. Thank you for the smiles this morning! 🙂

    1. Good day for Smiles for sure. 🙂

  9. You nailed it with that Johnku–so true. Congrats on all of your progress with the book.

The photo cracked me up 🙂

    1. I loved that cooler. Just felt right. Thanks, Mae.

  10. Congratulations on the progress of your newest book, John. Have a great weekend. Wow, a company with that water cooler much really swing. 😀 — Suzanne

    1. Ha ha ha. That cooler would be great. Thanks, Suzanne.

  11. I am happy for you and wish you all the best and great success!

    1. Thank you, Cecilia.

  12. Great to hear about your progress!

And . . . . I want one of those Hennessy coolers! Actually two of them. One for work and one for home . . situated right next to my recliner.

Oh, the ecstasy and the agony of your JohnKu . . . brilliant.

    Peace and Hennessy

    1. Ha ha ha. Peace through Hennessy.

      1. YES!

Brilliant as per usual, Boss man.

  13. Hmmm… my comment couldn’t be posted – trying again. Congrats on finishing up the Beta stage and book cover for The Contract, John & Gwen!

  14. Can we have a vodka one, too? Happy Friday, John. I realized you were not on my blogroll, so I just corrected that omission!

    1. Of course, you can have a vodka one as well. Thanks, Luanne.

      1. Thank you very much. Mom is here visiting. She’ll take a gin one ;).

      2. One gin, coming up.

      3. I’ll let her know!

I’m excited to see the cover! Look forward to the finished product:) Yes, the agony is gone after the launch couldn’t have said it better!

    1. Thank you Denise.

  16. Another productive week then John. Look forward to hearing more about your new book. Have a good weekend.

    1. You as well, Guy.

  17. There you go! It’s as I always suspected – getting a book out is like birthing a baby… Messy, painful and all the bad bits are forgotten as soon as you hold the little chap in your arms! 😉

    1. What a metaphor. Thanks, Jan.

  18. Congrats, good John and good Gwen! ♥♥

    1. Thank you, Good Billy Ray.

  19. Great haiku that I certainly appreciate. Another type of birth – launching a new book – in which the pain is forgotten once the baby/book is out there. In the meantime, a little of that ‘water’ dispenser may help. Happy Friday, and good luck!

    1. Just a little. Thanks, Pamela.

  20. I can empathize with this week’s JohnKu — well put! Have a wonderful weekend, John!

    1. You as well, Debbie.

  21. Didn’t they supply these in the last century or so? My office never had one. There were Fridays… 😀 😀

    1. Thanks, Tess. Offices used to have coolers. This is my own special attachment. 🙂

      1. Made me remember the series Mad Men… and the old days in the office. Teehee.

      2. Yes. I lived those years. 😀

  22. A perfectly said, because it is so true.

    1. Thank you, Jennie.

      1. You’re welcome, John.

  23. Oh so true! Best of luck with The Contract!

    1. Thank you, Jan. 😀

    1. Thank you for the link, Traci.

  24. I think that cooler works for hump day, too, John! 🙂 Good one, and congrats on the book progress, too!

    1. It does, Lauren. Thanks. *hic
