Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

TGIF

Friday is here, and the Fourth of July is history. It is good to celebrate the birth of our country. This year I was quite surprised that there were no disruptive fireworks anywhere near our house. This has to be a first.  Even though the possession of fireworks is against the law in our town, outsiders still have come in and littered the beach with burned out rockets. Maybe since we called the police as did several neighbors when last week some yahoo was setting off what sounded like dynamite they decided to patrol our area. Whatever happened it was a blessing. This brings us to today’s JohnKu. It talks about peace.

Peace by John W. Howell © 2108

Compared to the noise,

That always disturbed our sleep . . .

The silence was blessed.

I’m happy you had a peaceful fourth, John. I think they all came to our neighborhood. 😦 Happy Friday!

We had neighborhood fireworks that sounded like it was in front of my house, but on investigation, it was a good distance away – so all was good here too!

Good thing, GP. I find them very annoying.

It was a noisy Fourth in our area, but everything quieted down before midnight. Fear of pumpkins I guess. 😀

I hear revenge of the pumpkin is something to fear.

Rain, rain, and then more rain helped to keep things quiet here. I’m glad you got to share in the peace. The thunder and lightning nature provided more than made up for the absence of civic fireworks.

We didn’t get much of the thunder and lightning. Just a steady rain at 1:00 am.

I’m glad to hear that you had some quiet. We still had a few idiots around the neighborhood, but fewer than in years before. We’ve had some years when it’s been non-stop from Memorial day to mid-August.

I think the cops are tired of the calls. The residents are fed up with the whole mess. Thanks, Dan

Happy Friday, John! The fireworks here have been abundant, but have pretty much stopped by 10pm. Really can’t complain.

I think the dynamite yahoo moved to my yard Wednesday afternoon… I couldn’t see where it came from but it had to be close. Super loud! That was a first here. I usually hear the a night, but not enough to be a problem. But whatever that was… really loud.
Glad you got that unexpected quiet, John.
I’m mourning the end of my vacation leave, but it sure was nice to be away from the office for four days. TGIF hugs.

Sad thing when you are about healed someone rips off the bandaid. At least you got some rest I hope (except for the Yahoo.)
