Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy Continues Learning

“Hi, Bailey. What’s going on?”

“Hi, Pops. I was just wondering what Lucy and Twiggy are up to out there.”

“From here it looks like they are talking.”

“Talking? What about?”

“Hard to say, Bailey. You know Lucy has taken her role as big sister seriously. Why don’t you join them and see what they are saying?”

“Good idea.”

“Hey, you guys. Whatcha talkin’ about?

“Twiggy was asking about the birds and the bees.”

“OMG so soon?”

“Relax, Bailey. She was worried about the Pelicans.”

“You tell her they are just big fish eaters?”

“Yup. Man look at that flock.”

“Anyway, I also told her to beware of those big bees.”

“What are you looking at Twiggy?”

“I think I see a bee out there Bailey.”

“I don’t think so. That looks like a fly to me.”

“A fly? It’s a pretty big fly.”

“You guys should pay more attention to those flying things.”

“Relax Twiggy. That is a heron. He also eats fish. Not too many dog eaters around here.”

Lucy, Bailey, and Twiggy

“Besides, little one. if someone came after you, they would have to get through Bailey and me first.”

“Aw. That is so comforting. I feel better about the wild things, Lucy.”

“Unless they had a treat to offer.”

“Just kidding Bailey. Just kidding.”

  1. I can only imagine what a dog’s first encounter with a pelican would be like.

    1. Ha ha ha. Brings up all kinds of visions.

With these ladies keeping watch, an intruder (human or otherwise) best look elsewhere. Beautiful photos and great dialogue, John.

    1. Thank you, Gwen. πŸ˜€

  3. That’s a curious bunch. Loved the third shot of Bailey. Happy Thursday, John!

    1. Thanks, Jill. πŸ˜€

  4. Ha! Unless they had a treat. I love it.

They look so good together. Good of Lucy to show Twiggy the ropes. None of them look like a bird is gonna swoop down and snag them.

    1. I think they are safe. At least Lucy and Bailey are safe. Of course, Twiggy is putting on the pounds. πŸ˜€

      1. I was gonna say, but you know me and women and weight. Not a good history.

      2. Smart man. πŸ˜€

  5. Your furry kids are so adorable! Nice conversation, John. It appears little Bailey is being tutored well. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks, Mary. She is. πŸ˜€

  6. Reblogged this on Words To Captivate ~ by John Fioravanti and commented:
Too cute for words – John W. Howell gifts with another delightful lesson featuring Twiggy, Bailey, and Lucy. Please enjoy!

  7. Haha. It seems the word ‘treat is magic everywhere. My two grand-dogs, Kooper and Oakley can be persuaded to do just about anything with the promise of a treat.(they are King Charles Cavalier spaniels)

    1. Nothing like the phrase “Yum,Yum,”to get action. πŸ˜€

  8. Twiggy has the best big sisters. Her lessons are delightful. Love they talk and play.

    1. They do have fun together. Thanks, Jennie.

      1. You’re welcome, John.

  9. Aww, Twiggy has the bestest big sisters–teachers and protectors too. Who also like to have fun with her! This was great, John. The photos are adorable.

    1. Thank you, Mae. πŸ˜€ I’m glad you enjoy these posts.

  10. What an exciting life πŸ˜‚

  11. Love that photo of them looking skyward.

    1. Was actually an airplane. But you know the fiction business.

  12. Haha. Love that Lucy had a wicked sense of humor. Hugs on the wing.

    1. She does. Thanks, Teagan. Hugs

  13. Lucy and Bailey are awesome big sisters – love these pics!

    1. Thank you, Teri. πŸ˜€

  14. Twiggy is growing! She used to be so tiny next to Lucy and Bailey. She is one lucky little pup with so many caring hearts!

    1. She is growing and lucky. Thank you, Jan.

  15. Hahaha! I love their banter!

And from the looks of things, this trio looks as if they have no shortage of things to see . . .

    1. Always looking at something. Thanks, Marc.

  16. Oh boy! Oh boy! Something to chase! Wish that fence wasn’t there. πŸ™‚

    1. Yes it is true.

  17. These ‘ladies’ have a lovely range of the English language! I’m believing they’re talking to each other! Oh, my! I’ve lost it! β™₯β™₯β™₯

    1. You are okay just under the spell.

      1. β™₯β™₯β™₯

  18. Such good big sisters. Lovely pics.

    1. Thank you, Traci.

I’m glad she isn’t ready for the real birds and bees talk;)

    1. Ha haha. Me too.

  20. Aw, being a big sis isn’t always easy. Too often, you’re expected to fend off the bad stuff yet get blamed when things don’t go as they should. Lucy and Bailey seem like good big sisters!

    1. They do take care of her.

  21. Ha, ha! That was cute. Lucy’s such a great big sis. I can see how some big birds would scare a puppy. We have eagles, hawks, and vultures down here and they scare me, let alone my little Pom.

    1. I’m with you on vultures. Thanks, Vashti.

      1. Yes, they’re gruesome looking things. You’re welcome.

  22. So cute. And such exotic birds (to me!) haha.

  23. They really are a wonderful trio. Is it my imagination, or is Twiggy developing a bit of tawny color in her coat? She doesn’t seem as pure white as she used to.

    1. She has a toast color running down her back. She also has toast eyelashes, so I think she is turning beige. Her parents are both beige so I think it is going to go that way. Thanks, Linda. πŸ˜€

  24. Love Twiggy’s big ears πŸ˜‰

    1. She looks like a rabbit. Thanks, Marie.

  25. So, cute! How wonderful these dialogues are John!

    1. Thank you, Deborah

Ah, poor little Twiggy, she is so cute.

    1. Thanks, Robbie.

  27. Such a cute dialogue, John, and the photos are wonderful!

    1. Thank you, Lauren

  28. Well, I loved listening in to their conversation. Fun, fun and the photos are great!

    1. Thank you, Pamela.

  29. Had to check in on the trio. Twiggy continues to learn the ropes and growing! … Treats? Did someone say treats?

    1. H aha ha. Her middle name.

  30. Smashing look Bailey has in that second photo, John. So cute! lol
    Adorable seeing them all together.

    1. Thank you, Audrey.

  31. Lovely John and Lucy and Bailey have been so sweet with her… a delight to watch.. hugs

    1. Thank you, Sally
