Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

Lucy and Twiggy
“So it’s Friday, right?”
“Yes, Little Potato. It is.”
“YAY”
“I second that.”

Another Friday which signals another weekend. (YAY) This last week saw the manuscript delivered to the editor. The title is The Predator a world domination fight to the finish. It is a sequel to The Contract, and in it, Gwen and I hope to answer some questions raised in the first book.  It looks like we will be ready to publish in June, God willing and the creek don’t rise. We are currently working on a blurb and the cover. We’ll give you some more info when we have something to share.

That is all the exciting news from here. I have begun my next book which will be a solo effort. I want to give you the last three lines since that is where I always start. Here they are,

“I don’t think any of that matters anymore, my son. Now that you know the truth.”

“But how could you keep this kind of secret from me.”

“To see you grow and prosper was worth any deception. Now come on. We have much to discuss.”

Today’s JohnKu talks about the doors that close and those that open. I hope you have a great weekend.

Lead to others opening . . .

Don’t leave your big foot.

  1. Looking forward to the cover and new release this year:) That’s interesting you write the endings lines first! You have me with the word deception. Have a great weekend.

  2. An ending that leaves us wanting more. So you always start with your ending? Does it ever change once you get there? Curious minds want to know…

As for the Haiku. Yes. Don’t be jamming your own openings…

  3. Fantastic lines, John! I’m immediately intrigued! So excited for you and Gwen with the new book. I know it is going to be another totally amazing story! Happy Friday and yes, gotta watch out for those big feet in opening and closing doors. 🙂

  4. You always start with the LAST three lines? Hmm, maybe I need to give that a try. It’s the beginnings that typically grab my interest first. I never considered writing from back to front — maybe I should. Whatever works, right? (and these few words are immediately interesting!)

  5. Congratulations on getting the manuscript to the editor. Wishing great things for you and Gwen.

It’s fascinating to me that you start with your ending. I’ve never done that. Do they always end the way you expect, or do you find you have to change some or all of them?

Love the pic and caption. The girls always put a smile on my face.

    1. The lines do change but the end result stays pretty firm. Think of it as a guiding light at the end of a dark tunnel. If you walk towrds the light all seems well even if you are in total blackness at the time.

  6. Oooh… those are three very intriguing lines, John. I definitely want to know more.
Kudos to you and Gwen on this milestone with the new book. The title sounds like the story ups the ante. Looking forward to June!
And I still love hearing Twiggy called little potato. 🙂 Mega hugs.

  7. Congratulations on sending the manuscript to the editor! I never know how my story is going to end until I’m at least half way through the book, and even then it may change. Great Johnku! 😀 xo
