Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

Lucy and Twiggy

“Hey, Lucy, its Friday. Want to ruckus?”
“After my nap, Little One. After my nap.”

Another Friday is here and thank goodness for it. As you know from last week. I was on a break. It was terrific having mt eldest daughter visit. We did so many things, and she was a delight to have close.

I didn’t do any writing on the break. My goal was to be with my daughter, and that was accomplished. I did get back to work on Wednesday and have managed a thousand words a day since then.  So in all, I took a break of six days, and I worked on my WIP for five days. I was at 28,000 words when I last reported, and I’m now at 34,000. That means the days I worked, I did a little over 1000 words a day. You may wonder why I am going through these gyrations? To stay on point is why. If I have to report my output to you guys weekly, then I’m more dedicated. So I think you for keeping my nose to the grindstone.

Today’s JohnKu talks about staying on point.

To stay right on point.

I hope you have a great weekend.

Great to hear that your short break from blogging went well and that you didn’t blog while on your break, John. Well done on the achievements.

I’m glad you’ve found a ‘system’ that works for you. Figuring out what works can take some time!

Once I’m underway with a new book I pretty much stick to 1000 words a day. I find mouthing off about it keeps me dedicated and makes the discipline go easier. Thanks, Linda.

Everyone needs a little break, and family time is important. More so when you don’t see them every day. I report on my progress too, and always wondered if anyone cared or not.

A great strategy to hold yourself accountable, John. I’m happy you had the time off with your daughter. We all need to do that every so often. I’ve noticed that when I take a small break from my work I come back to it with more vigor. Happy Friday and a great weekend! 😀 xo

I admire your persistence and your productivity, John. I’m afraid talking about that would result in the opposite for me, coupled with a boatload of guilt over failing. Life does intervene, and sometimes it’s just tough to figure out a system that works. Enjoy your weekend!

And good on you for picking up where you left off! It is a smart idea to use us as your incentive to keep plodding. I want the next word count by Friday…y’hear? 😉

Loving the sound of those locations, I keep thinking about Davey Crockett, Jim Bowie, Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday, with a side order of John Wayne. Head on down to Australia I’ll be happy to supply the subtitles you’ll probably need to translate the Aussie-speak.❤

I’m happy to know that you had a good time with your daughter, as I’m sure she did with her dad. But, I must ask … the poor pups look exhausted … did you work them half to death? 😉

They work themselves half to death. They had just benefitted from a squirrel dropping into the back yard and resultant chase in 101 degrees. Alls well. Squirrel got away and dogs finally got cool. 😁
