Thursday – A Little Personal – Cold Snap

A little personal

so here we are faced with going outside when it is freezing.

“Oh my gosh, Lucy it’s cold.”

“Yes, it is Little One. Good thing you have that sweater.”

“Okay, I have to run to stay warm.”

“Right behind you, Little Leopard.”

“Keep running.”

“But we have to stop eventually. We are out here for a purpose.”

“Makes sense. I’m ready to go inside.”

“Wait for me.”

“Puff puff. That was some run.”

“Feel warm, though, don’t you?”

“Yes, I do.”

“I must say you look ferocious.”

“Please don’t tell anyone I’m in a cat sweater, Lucy.”

“Your secret is safe with me. Look at the Boss. He has something.”

“I picked this off the lounge chair. It’s ice.”

“Ice? What the heck is ice?”

“Frozen water.”

“Well, you have two frozen pups, and if you don’t mind, we need inside. We like our water unfrozen.”

They both have great coats for cold weather. Dot hates being cold. As soon as it drops to 10 C (50F) she needs a coat. What a wimp! We don´t see frozen water here in Spain. Keep warm. xo

I love that Twiggy’s wearing a cat sweater. I’d have a battle trying to get a sweater on Bond – and I’m pretty sure I’d be on the losing end of that one with plenty of wounds to show for it.

Tell the girls not to worry — sunshine and warmth are on the way. As you know, wild swings in temperature are common as the seasons change. This time of year, I can change clothes three times during the work day — from bundled up, to tossed jackets and socks, to putting it all on again as the sun begins to lower. I’ll bet there will be days when those spiffy sweaters the girls are wearing will go on and off, too!

“Hey, why are those dogs wearing sweaters?”

“Well Scooter, it’s because they live down south where 32º is considered cold.”

    “Gosh, that’s crazy.”

At least the girls wear their cute sweaters. Dallas refuses, probably thinking his double-coat is protection enough. He really should wear booties on this ice and snow, but that’s next-to-impossible, too. When you get the warmth back, send us some, okay?!

Lucy and Twiggy are rescues. Lucy (boxer) is often mistaken for a male since she does have a buff body. Twiggy’s (French Bulldog) mom was rescued from a puppy mill and (surprise) was pregnant. Twiggy was born in freedom and she came to us at eight weeks. They do genuinely love each other. Thanks, Susannah
