Thursday – A Little Personal – Lucy and Twiggy Face the Summer

Twiggy and Lucy

“This shade is sure nice, isn’t it?”

“Yeah, it is Little One.”

“Hey, where you going?”

“Drat, I was trying to tiptoe so you wouldn’t notice. I’m going to hit the cool grass.”

“I wonder how this umbrella works. Maybe I can get more shade here.”

“I can’t hear you.”

“I was mumbling to myself. I was trying to see if I could get more shade here.”

“Why? Looks like enough to me.”

“Well, I figure if I get enough shade, then you’ll come to sit with me.”

“You poor lonely child. Why don’t you come here?”

“For one reason, there is no cabana service over there.”

“Well, that’s true. It sure is cool, though.”

“So I tried it, and I didn’t like it.”

“Why does that not surprise me. It was the damp, wasn’t it?”

“Aw, you are so wise, Lucy. You are the best sister.”

“Okay, Little One. Let’s just take a chase and stay comfortable.”

“Can we order something?”

“I think Cabana Dad is off today, but we can try.”

Cabana dad! LOL! We’ve been hot and extremely humid. The fourth is going to be a real steamer. Great photos, John! Did twiggy ever figure out how to work the umbrella? So cute! Thanks for the smiles.❤️

The umbrella was a little beyond her. The controls were about five feet up the pole. She didn’t lick the base which might have helped. We are expected to have 100 degrees on the fourth. All fireworks have been cancelled due to COVID concerns. (We don’t mind since the pups hate fireworks) Thank you, Jill.

No service, eh? Something tells me they always get some kind of service.
We’re heading into a hot week… Not quite as bad as two weeks ago though today will be a scorcher with chance is thunderstorms (they keep calling for them and they keep not happening)

I think the weather people can always be safe calling for a chance of thunderstorms. If it doesn’t happen no one is upset. I mean who wakes up and says, “I hope we get nice loud thunderstorms today?” 😁

It’s steamy here and folks with two or four legs hide inside. Even the shade offers little relief. I suspect your pups will soon discover the wonders of howling. 😀

Lucy has a small howl that she uses under her breath when things don’t go in her direction. I hpe they don’t figure out how quickly a howl would bring attention. Thanks, Gwen. 😁

Cabana Dad, eh? We’re having a heat wave here 90+° every day and for at least the next ten days. Often, we only see one or two days all summer that hit 90°, so this is rare for us. Glad the pups have figured out how to stay cool … oh, and Cabana Dad … could you bring me a tall, cold Coors Light?
