Next are twins.
A male deer with velvet on his antlers.
Triple lunch.
Another shot of the buck and his immature antlers.
A buck and doe.
A mama and fawn.
A stroll in front of the bus.
A shot of another buck and a nice shot of the lake.
A little one and it’s mother.
As we can see, the deer are doing well. Enjoy the food and entertainment.
Nice to see wildlife doing well amongst us, John. We don’t have any deer in our garden, but we are enjoying watching the wagtais bringing up their chicks.

There’s very little more appealing than a fawn, and nothing better than a living lawn ornament. Thanks for the introduction to the new ones!

It is our spring time enjoyment. Most of these photos were taken in our front yard. 😁

Quite a surprise too. Haven’t had triplets before. Thanks, Jill.

They’re all over the place there. Do they stay out if trouble?
LikeLiked by 2 people
They do stay out of trouble. Most of the plants around are deer resistant. They do love the lawns.

That’s good. There are areas around here where deer eat gardens.

They do here as well if you are dumb enough to plant stuff they love.

I’ll have the lobster, thank you.
I was enjoying the scenery from the bus until you found the deer with triplets!! She sure must have been huge to carry 3 and now to feed them? Ouch!!
LikeLiked by 2 people
We never noticed her when she was carrying them. They all showed up one day. The triplets try and nurse on other mamas and get shooed away. They are all healthy though.

So glad I had a minute to stop by this morning (before it’s back to replacing the picket fence). Love these pictures, John, and can’t even imagine living in an area where the deer visit the neighborhood like that. It’s obvious they know they’re safe. I’ve never seen that anywhere else, but it’s a treat to view your shots. That last little guy looks newborn!
Thanks for sharing. Made me smile today, for sure. 🙂

Good morning, John! Thanks for the update on the deer and especially the fawns. You are luckier than we are. So far, we’ve seen fawns only 3 times here.
Have a wonderful Sunday,
Pit

Menu is good. Deer in the neighborhood is not balance. I heard a description of deer wolf interaction the other day. At the moment it is un-verified. Reportedly areas where they co-exist have much less car vs deer accidents. Evidently the wolves keep the deer away from the roads. Not implying this is the solution. However too many deer in the neighborhood is not a good thing either. Have also heard stories of momma deer threating dogs with a good hoof stomping for threatening fawns. Sure they are cute to look at. They belong in the wild. Not in anyone’s back yard. Large wild creature with almost no fear of humans is not a good combo. Next thing you know someone will want to graze cattle in the neighborhood. What could go wrong ?

See this is how it is. They were here before us. They get first right to front and backyards or anywhere they want to spend time. They will kick all cattle to the curb.

Aww, they’re just so dang cute!! And I’m amazed at your mad-skills, getting them to pose so prettily for you! Did you offer them treats as bribes?!?

I’m a deer whisperer. Also I’m pretty far away so they are naturally curious without feeling threatened. 😊 Thank you, Debbie.

Very sad! It’s been several years, but he has been raising their autistic son by himself and he sometimes struggles quite a bit. I admire him for all he’s doing, though.

There you go. We have a six foot wooden fence that the deer don’t like to jump.

We are thrilled to see maybe one deer every two years in our yard. On the other hand, they’re so abundant in Hubby’s home state of PA that people actually hate deer in their yard. How do your Texas neighbors feel?
