Views of the Neighborhood – Good Time Scavenger Hunt in Lakeway City Park

For the new year, it seems appropriate to concentrate on time. Today we are going on another scavenger hunt sponsored by the City of Lakeway Parks and Recreation. There are ten clocks, so we will try to find five today. Since we will be outside, it is a good idea to have a lovely catered brunch. Today that will be from Eastside Tavern in Austin. We also have Chicago back again.

Brisket + Cheddar Tater Tots

Topped with Scallions, Served with Chipotle Aioli

Load it up with Beans, Cheese, Sour Cream & Salsa Verde

Served with Avocado Spread, Cold Sliced Turkey, Soft Boiled Egg, Tomato and Radish

Add Your Choice of Meat: Brisket, Chopped Beef, Pulled Pork, Sausage or Smoked Turkey

Brisket, Egg & Cheese Sandwich

Brisket, Scrambled Eggs, and Cheddar on Texas Toast

Served with a Side of Red Potatoes

EST Chicken Fried Steak

Smoked sirloin breaded and fried with our homemade brisket gravy and served with a side of potatoes.

The instructions tell s to look for the restrooms and then start down the path. There are no other hints, so we will have to keep an eye out.

  7. In the photo just before clock #3 (the tree with the rock next to it), it looks like we’re seeing the bottom of someone’s shoe or boot. Maybe a strange sort of time traveler took a dive!

  8. I like that quest, John, but only from my comfy armchair inside. Just now there’s quite a wind, and it’s 21 outside, but with the windchill it feels like 9! brrrrrrrrrrr

      1. Not yet a big fire, but later. Well, we di have our gas fireplace on. I still need to sum up the courage to go out and get the wood for our other fireplace.

  9. Give me some Mac ‘n Cheese. Take a look at #3, the way the tree was trimmed, it appears that the shape of a sole of a shoe or boot can be seen. Or, someone actually is stuck in the tree. See what you’ve done, your imagination has rubbed off on me 🥸

  11. Did you notice that the tree by clock #3 looks exactly like the sole of a shoe? As if someone fell into the tree and all that could be seen was his leg and shoe sticking out? There’s a story in there somewhere, Mr. Writer. And, thanks for a perfect song, too. I look forward to next week!

  33. Aww, I thought they were going to be real clocks.
    I mean pretend clocks are all over the place these days.

    Oh well! This gives me time to run away to the nearest Veggie Resto for some Tofu and yeast flakes with sauerkraut juice.
