For the new year, it seems appropriate to concentrate on time. Today we are going on another scavenger hunt sponsored by the City of Lakeway Parks and Recreation. There are ten clocks, so we will try to find five today. Since we will be outside, it is a good idea to have a lovely catered brunch. Today that will be from Eastside Tavern in Austin. We also have Chicago back again.

So let’s go.
The instructions tell s to look for the restrooms and then start down the path. There are no other hints, so we will have to keep an eye out.
There are the restrooms, and here is a path. I see something on the green thing.
I thought so. The first clock
We have to turn around and start down the path. There is something
And clock number two.
A tree with a rock behind it. Let’s look.
You guys are good. Clock number three.
Some equipment up ahead. Aways a good spot for a clock.
Yup. Number four ho.
Big ole birdhouse up ahead.
A clock at its base.
So we will take a break now and come back next week. So sit back and relax, have some food and enjoy the music. I hope you have a great week.
Amazing clock quest, dear John! Thank you! It is perfect to start the New Year right! 🎄🎇✨

I know. It’s 23 here now. At least the ground isn’t covered with snow!

I’d forgotten about that Chicago tune. Well matched with the scavenger hunt, John. Always fun! Have a great day, hopefully with plenty of sunshine. 🌞

Right now it is 25 degrees with a wind chill of 19. I hope for sun too. Have a super Sunday, Gwen.

Good job, John. Is it OK that clock number four looks like a wine bottle in that photo?
BTW, I’ll have the Brisket + Cheddar Tater Tots because who could resist?

Resistance is futile. Thanks, Dan. Wine bottle is okay.

In the photo just before clock #3 (the tree with the rock next to it), it looks like we’re seeing the bottom of someone’s shoe or boot. Maybe a strange sort of time traveler took a dive!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes that is a strange sight. Those junipers have some funny trim marks at times.

I like that quest, John, but only from my comfy armchair inside. Just now there’s quite a wind, and it’s 21 outside, but with the windchill it feels like 9! brrrrrrrrrrr
Have great Sunday, and stay warm,
Pit

Life in the hill country. Big fire going I’ll bet.

Not yet a big fire, but later. Well, we di have our gas fireplace on. I still need to sum up the courage to go out and get the wood for our other fireplace.

Give me some Mac ‘n Cheese. Take a look at #3, the way the tree was trimmed, it appears that the shape of a sole of a shoe or boot can be seen. Or, someone actually is stuck in the tree. See what you’ve done, your imagination has rubbed off on me 🥸

That is a good thing , Steve,

You’re off to a timely start!! 😀 At clock 3 it does look like there’s the sole of a shoe next to the rock.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes it does. The stump of limb that has been cut off looks that way.

Did you notice that the tree by clock #3 looks exactly like the sole of a shoe? As if someone fell into the tree and all that could be seen was his leg and shoe sticking out? There’s a story in there somewhere, Mr. Writer. And, thanks for a perfect song, too. I look forward to next week!

Thank you, Jennie. Yes, I did notice. (As did some others)

It was really cool! You don’t think it’s Tiny, do you? He’s apt to get get upset and do who-knows-what.

It is not Tiny. He is on vacation on St Barts

A fun outing, with good food and good music. It IS kind of weird how the trimming of those branches on the tree looks like the sole of a boot. 🙂

I know right. Maybe I need to do a feature on weird tree trimmings.

Aww, I thought they were going to be real clocks.
I mean pretend clocks are all over the place these days.
Oh well! This gives me time to run away to the nearest Veggie Resto for some Tofu and yeast flakes with sauerkraut juice.
Love the song!
