Thursday – A little Personal – Twiggy and Lucy in the Sun

“Hey, Lucy, look at all that sun.”

“I know, Little one. It has been a while since we have had some.”

“What do you think? A game of tag, maybe?”

“Sounds good. Man, that shadow makes me look big.”

“Oh, I wouldn’t say that. You are a perfect size.”

“Thank you, Little One. But, just the same, I think I will mind the shadows.”

“You hear that? Let’s go see what it is.”

“I didn’t hear anything. I’ll be right behind you.”

“I knew it. A puma has been in the yard. I can smell him.”

“Come on, there’s no puma’s around here.”

“You can believe what you want, but don’t come crying to me if one leaps out of a tree onto your back.”

” If that happened, I think I’d have more to do than coming crying to you.”

I swear he’s been here. I can almost describe him. Let’s go check the rose bed. Maybe he’s been there too.”

Okay. I think you are on a wild goose chase, though.”

Yeah, I don’t think he’s been here. Hey, what’s happened to the roses?”

“Those hard freezes caused the roses to go to sleep.”

“Someone should wake them up. They look like they are dead.”

“They will be trimmed, and then in the spring, they’ll be back.”

“You promise?”

“Yes, I do. Now, what about that game of tag?”

“I’ll count to ten.”

“Very funny.”

Always good to see the sun. We have been without sun for almost a week and the girls and I are really missing it.

There’s nothing like sunshine to raise everyone’s spirits. Tell Twiggy even the roses like the sunshine, so it’s a sure thing they’ll start reaching for it soon.

They do love the sun. Twiggy will spend almost the whole day soaking it up. Only when the temps are below 85 though. 😁

Nothing warms the heart faster than sunshine. 🌞 Your backyard looks beautiful, John. I haven’t been in ours since the temps dropped into the teens. From our windows, all look well, but occasionally I hear a rustle. Maybe your puma has found a new home. 😊

What a lovely term of endearment, Tim. I went back and read the story of the pop-top and am so glad you have each other. I am almost finished with the Valley Walker and want you to know I am so impressed with your writing. The characterizations and story are spellbinding. I know this story is close to your heart and that comes through in the writing. I’m so glad I decided to read it. 😊

So glad you like it, John. The flashbacks to Vietnam are based on my time there. The soft ice cream scene is fresh in my memory, at times, as is the scene with the fresh tracks through the elephant grass.

I like the non-aerobic way they play tag. Dogs like everything to be just so in their yards. Ours sniffs everything when it’s covered in snow and then sniffs it again when the snow melts.

Lucy & Twiggy are discussing a new sort of energy for the Twiggy Resort. “Solar Dog’s Tag Power” is an innovative breakthrough of our times. 😂😂😂 I’m glad there is sun, dear John. We are still plunging in snow & it will last until April this year…or even longer. 🙂

    What about the Puma?
Take Twiggy and Lucy inside! What if the Puma gets them.
    OMG!!!
There was a Puma in the roses.
Poor little puppies, playing in the yard, awaiting a Puma attack.
    I can’t look.
Just let me know when the puppies are safely inside!
Landsakes. Next thing you know a coyote will come prowling around.

Do not worry. The two are safe. IN fact Twiggy thinks she is a puma. So far none have been in out yard. Twiggy is always pulling out leg about a puma. I think she secretly wants a male puma to show up. Anyway all is good. Thanks, Resa.
