Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Lucy in Between

“Where you going, little one?”

“I’m not sure. I’m a bit lost today.”

“What did Twiggy say?”

“It’s okay, Boss. We’ve got it handled.”

“Man, they have the ears of an elephant.”

“Yeah, so what were you saying about being lost?”

“Well, It’s just like we are in between things.”

“What do you mean ‘between things?’

“Well, take the garden, for example. All the flowers aren’t here yet.”

“Well, that’s because the weather isn’t stable.”

“Exactly. We are between warm and cold and sometimes in each.”

Yeah, but you can still soak up the sunshine. Look at how bright it is.”

“I see that, but the air is a little chilly.”

“I’ll give that to you. You have to make the best of it, though.”

“Okay. I’ll give the layout a chance. The sun does feel good.”

“You know, Little one. Sometimes life is about making accommodations.”

“If I were making the accommodations, there would be a pool here for sure.”

“By accommodations, I mean being flexible. Rolling with the punches.”

“Okay, I see what you mean. Call that cabana boy, and let’s get some kibble out here.”

“I guess that’s one kind of rolling.”

  2. What a riot! Perhaps a kiddie pool is in order for Twiggy?😋

    1. We had one when we lived on the coast. She hated it. Now she loves puddles so maybe it’s time to try again.

  3. I’m with Twiggy on it being between things. The cold is still lingering and spring (although here officially) is kind of fleeting at this point. Still, being between things is better than being in the midst of winter. Now go take care of your cabana boy duties, John! 😆

  12. Could Twiggy and Lucy be waxing a bit philosophical today?

    This bit is my favorite:

    “What did Twiggy say?”

“It’s okay, Boss. We’ve got it handled.”

“Man, they have the ears of an elephant.”

    1. Thank you, Liz. That bit was prompted by Lucy looking back and Twiggy with her ears in the irritated mode.😁

      1. You’re welcome, John! I don’t think I’ve seen my dog’s ears in the irritated mode. He is laid back to a fault.

  13. We’re also in between – 70s earlier in the week, today it’s 40 degrees. The Bradford pear tree blooms went from a beautiful white to a dead brown almost overnight. I’d love to see the girls hanging out by a puppy pool, lol.

  18. In between land – I like that! Twiggy could get a splash in a little inflatable pool, if the Cabana Boy is so inclined! 🙂

    1. We had one for her but she didn’t like it then. She was splashing in the puddles in the recent rains so maybe she has changed her mind. Lucy always avoids pools. Thanks, Noelle.

  20. Our 1 inch of predicted rain morphed into 3.5 inches and tornado watches and warnings until midnight. The sun is still hiding behind clouds that are seemingly endless. I would take a spot of sunshine to lounge in.

  27. Twiggy, we’re between things, too. Rain and mud on one hand, but cold and snow on the other. I guess we’ll just have to take what we get and accommodate, since we can’t control that pesky weather!
