An event was held last week in support of Folds of Honor. Due to the magic of time travel, we can go back and check it out. We will be having lunch at Cross Water Yacht Club, the event’s sponsor. Folds of Honor is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of military members who have fallen or been disabled while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Our entertainment will be Toby Keith.
Menu
Fish & Chips, cole slaw, beans, and a drink.
So jump on the old bus, and let’s get going.
Here we are, and it is a beautiful day. Here is the logo for the organization. The folded flag is the symbol of the sacrifice of those men and women in the military.
A dry-erase board lets us know we are in the right place.
Here is the central cook spot for fries and fish.
The serving tent. So, help yourself when you are ready.
A shot of the Yacht club over a photo of those free to celebrate.
Another photo of the club.
One shot of the venue, which was on a hill overlooking the club.
I hope you enjoyed our trip today. Now sit back and relax and enjoy Toby Keith.

A great event. Enjoy a beautiful weekend, John! I think the fries are for you, and some steaks for Twiggy and Lucy, right? 😉 Or they are vegetarian? xx Michael

They are carnivores so steaks would be high on their list of good things to eat. 😊

I loved Liz’s comment too. I’ll tell ya GP I find it very hard to read the crap out there. I think a focus on positives is the only way to go. Thanks and have a super Sunday. 😁

Wonderful cause, and it looks like it was a great event. And fish & chips, you had me right there. Actually, the logo caught my attention first. All around a good day.

Wonderful post, John. I hadn’t heard of the Folds of Honor organization before your post. We’ve many vets in our area and a large VA hospital, so there are multiple times of honor throughout the year. Always, I’m moved to tears. Closing with Toby Keith was perfect! ✨✨✨

I was there before it really got started. There were people arriving as I left so I think they did. Besides I think some of the members kick in donations.

That was lovely, John. And who can resist fish and chips and Toby Keith?
Hope your Sunday is fine. We’ve hit the “feels like” temp of 102ºF. We call it the humidex because its the humidity that so affects the base temp. Which is why I don’t bother with the supposed base temp of 88. The feels like is what it feels like so…I cut out the middle man!

I don’t blame you. We are at 100 F now and don’t know what the “feels like” temp is. Humidity is low so it is probably about 101. Thanks, Dale.
