Twiggy is playing by herself today. Lucy is fine but is sleeping and needs her rest. We didn’t want to wake her just for photos.
“Why so glum, chum?”
“Having to play alone is a challenge.”
“You know Lucy needs her rest.”
“I know she needs her rest, but still, it’s more fun with her.”
“Well, you can make due. How about playing with Piggy? She’s new.”
“Yeah, well, we were playing, and all of a sudden, Piggy decided to nap too.”
“Wake her up. She doesn’t need beauty rest.”
You are pretty funny, Dad. She isn’t really asleep. I just got tired of playing with her. So I think I’ll get chuck-it.”
“Now that’s a good idea. You can chase Chuck-it around the house.”
“Humm. All of a sudden, Piggy seems like a better idea.”
“Why? You love to chase Chuck-it.”
I think it might wake Lucy.”
“Aren’t you sweet?”
“Mmmft. tay wizeit parfet.”
“What?”
“Sorry, I said I need to move it to the carpet.”
“Oh. Hard to understand when it’s in your mouth.”
“Yeah. Now that it’s here. I’m not so sure.”
“Well, you’ll have to make a choice. Want me to throw one of them?”
“Hey, that would be great. Toss Piggy, and I’ll fetch her.”
“Happy now?”
“Oh yes. Keep tossing her.”
“Wait a minute, I didn’t sign up for that.”
“But you’ll do it, right?”
“Yeah, of course.”

Bond’s idea of fetch is I throw it, he walks over and sniffs it, then I’m supposed to go get it and start all over. Maybe Twiggy should explain the rules to him.

LOL, there’s always more to play than humans sign up for.
Daphne has invented Sling the Ring. She slides a plastic bottle/jug ring under the door and waits for me to sling it back. She’s also taught it to Velma, although they don’t play it against one another — they both play against me. The trouble is, the door in question is to the bathroom, immediately beside the toilet. There is absolutely NO going to the toilet in peace for the human.

Lucy has terminal cancer. She is eating well and still has her facilities but the prognosis is not good. One day at a time.
