We are off to Bee Cave Texas a town three miles up the road. They are holding an art show on the common ground of the Galleria of Shops. We will be catered by Bufalina of Austin. Our entertainment is Robert Palmer

Salad

bibb salad – mustard vinaigrette, soft herbs, honey crisp apple

caesar salad – parmigiano reggiano, anchovy, croutons

stracciatella – cured olive, roasted tomato, thyme, black pepper, foccacia

crudo á la swan – bluefin tuna, caper, red onion, serrano

pasta

pansotti – ricotta, tomato passata, pane grattato

tonnarelli – sicilian pistachio pesto, lemon, pecorino sardo

pappardelle bolognese – pork and beef ragu, parmigiano reggiano

pizza

marinara – tomato, garlic, oregano

margherita – tomato, mozzarella, basil, parm

red pie – tomato, double garlic, double parm, chili flake, oregano

pepperoni and mushroom – tomato, mozzarella, basil, serrano ranch

calabrese – tomato, mozzarella, salami, serrano, garlic, basil

taleggio – sausage, mozzarella, scallion

franco pepe – anchovy, mozzarella, black olive, basil

meatball – tomato, mozzarella, provolone, pepperoncini, basil, oregano

fresca – mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, lemon agrumato, parmigiano

guanciale – mozzarella, parm, black pepper, red onion

dessert

mint chocolate chip ice cream w/ rainbow sprinkles – one scoop

vanilla ice cream and sherry

chocolate mousse – chantilly, olive oil, sea salt

torta di ricotta – parmigiano, aceto manodori

  7. Well… I finished that Bibb salad, very good by the way. The walk around the art festival was interesting.
    Now… I’ll have that vanilla ice cream and sherry, please.

  10. That looks like a great art show, John. I hope it was well attended. While I’d like a little of everything on that menu, I’m gonna snag a slice of that pepperoni and mushroom pizza – maybe two slices. I might grab a scoop of mint chocolate chip to eat on the way back to car.

  12. I remember you taking us to Bee Cave before – fun trip. There were a couple of items I would have bought. It was hard to choose the pizza with so many that were different. Robert Palmer goes with anything – one of my favorites of his. Thanks for a good trip!

  15. Everything looks so tidy — especially for a festival of any kind. I can’t help wondering how a sweater seller could possibly do any business during a Texas summer… but people do like to shop in advance. Thanks for this little adventure, John. Everything looks colorful and fun. Oh, and that menu is awesome. I’m very intrigued by the stracciatella salad. Hugs.

  21. Just one slice of Margherita pizza please, and maybe a cold Bud Light? This was a fun journey … love the name of the town, Bee Cave!!! I’ll pass on the art, mainly because my walls won’t hold any more, but a cool way to spend a Sunday morn! Thanks, John!!!

    That is one cool art fair. Are all the artists from the area?
    Did they sell any art? I always hope artists make some $$$.

    I’m not very hungry…the heat, you know. I’ll just have vanilla ice cream and sherry.

    1. I think they probably sold some. The fair ran till 8:00pm so there was time for people to really look at the work. I liked the idea of vanilla ice cream and sherry.
