Thursday – Twiggy Ventures Forth

“Hey, Twiggy.”

“Yes, Dad.”

“Don’t you think going out and playing would be a good idea?”

“Gee, Dad. It’s so hot out there.”

“Oh, come on. You are a Texas dog. You can take it. Besides, it’s below a hundred right now.”

“Well, if you think it’s okay. Maybe for a little while.”

“Okay, so here you are. What do you think?”

“The heat’s no problem, but what’s with the kaleidoscope?”

“That called dappled sun. Poets go nuts over that stuff.”

“Well, I think it is some kind of trigger. Feels like I’m in a virtual game.”

“It does keep you cooler. Check out where the sun is full strength.”

“I suppose that is a good thing.”

“You suppose? Too much heat is not good.”

“I was hoping to take a sun bath. I’m going up on the porch.”

“This is like Hell’s Back Porch.”

“It does feel good on the bones.”

“Well, it may be good for a bulldog, but as for this human, I’m out of here.”

“You have to know when enough is enough. I’ll take a little more.”

“I hear you knockin’, but you can’t come in.”

“Nice imitation of Fats Domino,  but time to open the door.”

  10. Glad Twiggy ventured outside. I can understand why it was only for a little while! We finally got rain here (Eastland Co), but the accompanying winds knocked out the power and a/c when it was still 103. Thankfully, the power came back on at 1:30 this morning!

  12. I used to love to sit in the sun. My kids said I was like a snake on hot rocks. Now I can’t stand the heat. I feel like I haven’t been outside in months.

  15. It’s not exactly pleasant in the shade, but it does look like Twiggy’s got a lovely spot in that dappled light. I hope people take the fire danger seriously; it was good to see the Decker fire put out so quickly yesterday.

  19. Glad Twiggy got to venture outside in a bit cooler weather. The shade did have a video game flare to it, and yes, dappled sun catches certain people’s attention 🙂

  27. LOL! I think Twiggy has had her fill of the sun for the day.
    I’m glad to know the temps are easing below 100 down there. Just thinking about that kind of heat has me craving that nice dappling (which by the way, was beautiful), and a cool breeze!

  31. Twiggy doesn’t have to take off her clothes to sunbathe – the heat must feel good on her joints! Love Fats Domino – I danced to this tune in an earlier life! We did the Stroll!
