Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy Gets Two Baths

“Hey Twiggy. Whatcha doing?”

“I’m thinking about a sunbath.”

“That sounds great.”

“Yeah, the temperature is below blowtorch. The sun feels good.”

“Sure looks comfortable.”

“Ahh, this is the life.”

“Looks like you shifted.”

“Need a little shade for my face. A girl has to watch her complexion.”

“I didn’t know that was a consideration.”

“Well, one can’t be too careful.”

“How do you find out about things like complexion?”

“I do my research.”

“Well, let me say I’m impressed.”

“You have to stay up with things these days. Did I just hear Mom calling?”

“Yeah, I heard it.”

“She’s not calling from the patio to join her under the umbrella.”

“No, it sounds more like she’s calling from inside.”

“I guess I better find out what she wants.”

“Did you find out what Mom wanted?”

“Look at me. I’m soaking wet.”

“Ah, bathtime.”

“You coulda told me.”

“That would have been a lose-lose move.”

I take it Twiggy doesn’t like bath time.

It looks like Twiggy likes bathtime as much as Dot and Lia do. At least they dry off quickly in the sun and smell better!

Ah ha …. Twiggy bathes in the sun, but not the water. Oh well, Summe Cum Laude dogs can be the picky type.

So nice that the weather is finally cooperating. Sorry she didn’t like the second of her baths. Sending her belly rubs to help her through the turmoil. Thanks for the smiles, John.

My boys found them traumatic. I tended to get every bit as wet as they did. (Still do with Lucky.)

Apparently bathtime for Twiggy is equivalent to what getting Dixie Rose into her carrier used to be: an event requiring the kind of planning generally associated with complex military campaigns. Or a lot of sneakiness.

Poor Twiggy. I’d have thought a nice bath would’ve felt good after soaking up all that sunshine (but I guess I’d have been wrong). At least you can save money on sending her to the groomer’s. With all Monk’s furs, there’s no way I’d try wrestling him into a tub!

The groomer is able to comb out some of his undercoat, making him more comfortable in all this heat. No way I’d consider shaving him down — he’d look like one of those naked mole rats, ha!

    Dear Twiggy,
When I saw 2 baths, I thought – Ohhh noooo! You got sprayed by a skunk!
It would take at least 2 baths, and you might still be behind the 8 ball of odeurs!
As is, you’ve had 2 beauty baths.
The result is – You look simply marvellous!
Look at it that way, and mention it to dad!

Reading a Hindi novel. Coincidentally, the section I just finished reading mentions an old village woman taking a bath twice a day during the summer months and once in 2 months during the winter. Wondering what is the frequency of Twiggy’s bath during the winter months…
