Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy Bound

“What are you doing?”

“Looking at these ugly runners.”

“We put those down so you won’t slip on the tile.”

“Did y’all have a choice of colors?”

“Those runners are for your protection. Now that you can walk around a little, we don’t need a slip and fall.”

” I appreciate them. It’s just this healing process takes so long.”

“I know. But look at you. Using the wedge to get up here.”

“It does give me a feeling of freedom to be able to move around.”

“I hear a ‘but’ in there somewhere.”

“Well, being out of this jail would be nice.”

“You know it is for your own good.”

“Doesn’t make it any easier.”

“Look how far you have come already. You walk like a champ and try to sneak runs.”

“I know. I wish I could go into the backyard and battle a wildebeest.”

“That day will come, sweetheart. You just have to be patient.”

“A virtue that somehow I missed when it was handed out.”

“Buck up, Beanie. You’ll be fine.”

“You’re right, Dad. Thanks.

Love the jail line knowing just how she feels. And I remember when you put the runners down for Lucy.. Maybe Twiggy does too. sigh…missing her pal.

I also think, she’s extremely photogenic. That profile. Catherine Deneuve has nothing on Twiggy Howell. Please tell her I said that. 🙂

She is very flattered getting such a compliment from a professional such as yourself. Of course, now she’s talking about good side shots. 😁 I do think Twiggy misses her pal. The runners have to remind her. Thanks for the lovely visit.

You’ll know when she insists on better lighting for Thursday’s post. Get ready. What was that Twiggy? You’ll be ready for your close-up as soon as you can tool around without any restrictions. That’s certainly fair play. 🙂

Jailbird Twiggy is reluctantly hanging in there … definitely improving – but I didn’t realize she is an interior design critic. Then again, not surprised because of her diva nature. How is she handling not being able to rush the sound of delivery trucks?

    Liked by 3 people

    1. John W. Howell's avatar

We are lucky since her meds pretty much take the desire to chase things and bark away. The deliveries occur when she is napping. Otherwise it would be a disaster.

There are hues that they can see. I think she was talking about the hideous pattern. Here is a vet’s view. “Human eyes have three types of cones that can identify combinations of red, blue, and green. Dogs possess only two types of cones and can only discern blue and yellow – this limited color perception is called dichromatic vision.”

I forgot to ask… I got your Last Drive novel yesterday and started it. How much push back you get that is = leave out the God stuff and write the story? A writing partner of mine gets it often – he writes historical westerns with Christian content.

I have not had any push back about leaving out the God stuff. I have had people a little nervous about the Lucifer stuff but all in all well received. I think it is because the book doesn’t push religion but concentrates on time travel and the paranormal. Thanks, Woody. (I think) Your comments are coming in not identified.
