“So what’s going on here?”
“We are putting the legs back on the couches.”

“Okay. Why are you doing that?”
“You are well enough to use your stairs to get up on them.”

“That’s great. How about jumping off?”
“Oh no, no, no. No jumping off. Use the stairs.”

“You guys keep working. I need to do my Yogi. Downward facing dog.”
“Your form is excellent.”

“Upward facing dog.”
“Oh, come on. Not even close.”

“Yeah, you’re right. How’s this?”
“Much better.”

“I was so busy with Yogi I missed the entrance of the fuzzy white.”
“It looked like you were into it for sure.”

“What’s this white thing?”
“A device to keep you out of the dog house.”

“I get it. It protects the white fuzzy carpet. ”
“Right. Keeps us both out of trouble.”

“Sure feels good to be back to normal.”
“I see you have tried making a nest on both couches and made yourself comfortable.”
“Sure have. Wanna get that light?”

Yes, the world makes sense again!

Whether human or animal, getting old is no fun, John. Like you, we arrange the sofa (and house) for our dog and cat. On the not-so-good days, my dog considers me his hydraulic lift.

I certainly know how that is. We did that for our Boxer for at least six months.

That was not staged. She tore up the two couches and finally found her contentment spot. 😊

Somehow I’d missed the lowering of the sofas. You’re such good pup parents — but how nice to have things back in order again.
LikeLiked by 2 people
We did that maybe four months ago with no announcement so you would have missed it. We could have kept them down low but for the fact that ole John was having difficulty getting up out of them. 😁 We have ordered more steps to prevent her from jumping up or down. Thanks, Linda.

Does she use the stairs to get off? Eos has two sets on the one sofa; she slowly and with great effort uses them to get up. Descending? She always jumps past the steps and always lands awkwardly before limping away. I seem to recall Trevor was the same.
LikeLiked by 2 people
She does use them to get down. The problem is there is only one stair per couch so she will jump down if the stair isn’t right where she is. We have two more on order.

That Twiggy has become Everyone’s Dog, hasn’t she? I wish I’d gotten stairs like you have for my big Lab Casey. He used my upholstered Lane Cedar Chest instead. I didn’t notice the destruction from his claws until too late. Sigh.

Our late Boxer, Lucy was too heavy for them. We had to lift her up and down. I’ll bet the chest was a mess.

Definitely destroyed, and Casey is too heavy for us to lift (130 lbs–he has elbow dysplasia and we’re working on a balance of exercise and food–failing so far!)
