“I was just thinking about Lucy and that photo you took of us running on the new Turf.”
This one? Taken three years ago?
“Yes. We were sure happy. I miss having Lucy with us.”
“Mom and I miss her too. Of course, you have us.”
“I know, Dad. I hate to tell you, but fur and skin people are different people.”
Well, I do know that and know I’m no substitute for Lucy.”
“I know you try your best, but I have a hard time seeing you as a water buffalo.”
“I wonder what we can do to help you?”
“I’m not sure either. There is no way to wish Lucy back with us .”
“If you had another wish, what would you say it would be?”
“One that I have said many times. You know I can’t say it, or it won’t come true.”
“Here’s a deal. I’ll make a wish, and hopefully, it will be the same as yours.”
“That would be swell, Dad. Do you think Mom would join us in a wish?”
“I’m certain she will.”
“I hope we are on the same page. If so, I think it’s time to smile.”
“I think so too, Little One.”

I join Twiggy in missing Lucy (and Bailey). I’d never ruin her wish by giving voice to it (in case my supposition is correct), but I hope it comes true for her, you, and the Producer.
In the meantime, if you’d like to share a video of you playing water buffalo, I’d be interested in that. lol

It is my fault. I even got mushy writing it. Pictures of Lucy always bring tears to my eyes. I can’t help it. She was such a loving soul who meant everything to us.

This is so precious and heartwarming. We recently lost my writing buddy and it sure is lonely. I think I’ve made that wish too, although my son tells me it’s a terrible idea.

“Fur and skin people are different people.” Well said, Twiggy! I Monkey have long thought that very same thing. Convincing Mama of it, of course, is a different critter entirely. Somebody on one of our walks (mistakenly!) told her that two you-know-whats are twice the trouble and aggravation. Humph! What do they know?? I Monkey will keep paws crossed Twiggy’s wish comes true!

Lots of sweet memories. I was doing laundry and noticed the leash and tags that were my Boston’s , Tide, hanging from a a hook. I can’t bring myself to get rid of them. Have a lovely day with Twiggy. 🌹
