Views of the Neighborhood – Bluebonnets and Sculptures

Lakeway has three new sculptures, so we want to go see them. Also, there are bluebonnets in bloom, and we want to check them out too. We are catered by Second Bar and Kitchen in Austin, and our entertainment is Gene Autry.

Our first stop is the activity center courtyard to see the Frog and Lilly Pad bronze sculpture and fountain.

I hope you enjoyed the tour. Now, sit back and enjoy the food and music.

  1. Beautiful, John. I also remember Joan Hall’s photos of Blue Bonnets last year. Texas has a lovely Spring terrain. And I especially like the concluding Tempeste photo! 😊

  2. Great to see the bluebonnets and Tempeste. I love the Dragon Park sculpture. All the breakfast entrees with fancy names and ingredients look good, but how can I pass up two eggs, smoked bacon and hashbrown potato cakes?

    Happy Sunday, John.

  3. I thought everything online today would be green, but to honor the Texas bluebonnets, I’ll have the blueberry cheesecake french toast – thanks!

  4. The dragon sculpture is fabulous! I love how you snuck in the picture of Tempeste amongst the bluebonnets. Adorable. My dad was a huge Gene Autry fan and sang this song often. A nice memory for me. Thanks.

  5. I would love a dragon sculpture at my house. 😀 I really love bluebonnets. My grandma had them and I always thought they were so pretty.

    Tempeste is such a cutie-patootie! 🧡🌷

  6. I was reading Southern Living where there are several pages of the bluebonnets and Lady Bird Johnson’s dedication to wildflowers. This must look beautiful in person.
What to get: Texas waffles or the French Toast?!

  7. Aww, Tempeste looks so sweet amid those bluebonnets! It’s wonderful when a pup comes home already knowing how to pose for pictures. And at first, I thought the diver on the right was doing toe-touches! Love the frog sculpture, too.

  8. Thanks for sharing your bluebonnets, John. I need to get out for a drive and find some. The frog and dragon were impressive, but Tempeste stole the show. And thanks for brunch and Gene Autry song.

  9. Great photos. It is a beautiful neighborhood. Bluebonnets are beautiful. I had not realized until now that you live west of Austin, a 20 minute drive from Jester King Brewery, my favorite Texas brewery (I live in Dallas).

  10. Smiley Burnette! Now there’s a name I haven’t heard in a very long time! 😀

As usual, your Friday post is filled with interesting and beautiful photos. LOVE the bluebonnets, and wish we had them growing wild here. Looks like I’ll have to visit Texas if I ever want to see them in the wild.

As always, a great post, John! 😀 ❤

  11. With my taco in hand, I am loving the call of the bluebonnets, and then I come upon that dragon and I think to myself, this is as good as it gets!

And then there’s Tempeste, and I realize I just hadn’t walked far enough yet.
