Views of the Neighborhood – Potpourri

Today, we are going to see several things. I call it potpourri because there is no theme, just a little bit of everything. We are catered by Aba of Austin. Our entertainment is Keith Urban

Let’s go

The Producer’s roses are in bloom.

A beautiful stand of poppies.

Looks like the dish got the heave-ho.

A swallowtail butterfly in the sage.

New geraniums.

Worn out gaming chairs. Wonder how the thumbs look?

Geranium and snapdragons. The boxwood hedge in the background looks good.

The car bumper meets the mailbox. It is interesting that inside the brickwork is a bunch of trash.

Another view shows how hollow the brickwork is.

Remember this holiday decoration?

It is still there only on the ground.

The Calibrachoa is ready for lounging.

Okay, that’s the tour. Time to sit back and enjoy the food and music. I hope you have a super week.

Wow! The roses look amazing. I’m happy because I have one bloom! I love the poppies too. I wonder what the car bumper looks like after hitting the pillar.

The perfect song for today, John. Lovin’ the flowers, but the mailbox stand is not a surprise. Workers always look for a quick and easy way to cleanup after themselves – soda cans in the brickwork fellas, and anything else laying around!!

It seems that way, GP. I was thinking yesterday (no snickers please) about those razor blade slots that used to be in medicine cabinets. Big surprise when opening a wall.

Fantastic flowers, John. For the bin with the dish, how about the song from Queen: Another One Bites the Dust? Gotta love that fiber where it’s available.

Great song, Grant. I wrote my first three books to Queen’s music. We don’t have fiber yet, but would love to have it. Thanks for the comment.

Wonderful to see spring flowering, John. A brickwork mailbox holder getting knocked over must have been a big enough jolt to wake the driver.

Wonderful post, as always, John. I just love touring your neighborhood. Are those Knockout roses, by any chance. They look just like the ones edging a circular bed in my front yard. (I LOVE roses!! Should share some pics one day. Maybe.)

And the picture of the butterfly is especially beautiful. The pictures of the “grounded” brick mailbox, not so much. You gotta wonder what happened there, and what “the other guy” looks like.

Thanks for sharing, and hope your day is a great one! 😊❤️

It’s so nice, John, to see your Spring flowers. And yes, the boxwood hedge looks very healthy. As for that mailbox — well, it’s sad when somebody backs into a pile of brick like that (or perhaps worse if they fronted it!). Damage all around, I’d guess.

John, that satellite dish location makes me think there was a failure to communicate somewhere along the way. The holiday decoration’s return to Mother Earth certainly is a sign of the season…the current one. The blackberry drop biscuit sounds perfect any time of year.
