Today, we are visiting an exhibition of Needle paintings by Lakeway artist Carol Williard van Ginkel. Needle painting is a process using needles, thread, and multicolored string to produce a work of art.
Carol learned to embroider from her grandmother, who taught her to cross-stitch. She became interested in Needle painting and fell in love with it. The exhibit shows her progress over the last seven years.
We are catered by Bouldin Creek Cafe in Austin. Our entertainment is Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, and Dolly Parton

The lights and locations of the art make photos very difficult. I have tried to avoid glare, and so some may appear distorted. Also I have cropped the photos to focus on the art and not the frames.

Oh WOW!!! and I mean WOW…. These are exquisite embroidery works of art.. I know from doing a little embroidery years ago on a table cloth I made just how long and intricate these can take..
I adored All of them. But the Birds and the flowers stood out for me… Just beautiful John…

I’m not sure this art form would be something I’d enjoy doing, but it looks as if she has a nice flair for it. I’m especially enamored of the two fish and the ponies. Hope your Sunday was restful!
