So let’s go.

This is a close-up of a Texas purple sage bush. When it blooms, they say rain is seven days away.

Mama and her two fawns.

A bright pink set of crape myrtles.

Daddy buck with his velvet antlers.

A giant white crape myrtle.

Mama looking for a handout.

Airconditioner box – First sign of summer.

Lawnmower at the curb – First sign of lawn trouble.

Dining room chairs at the curb – First sign of a redo.

Office chair and kiddie pool at the curb – First sign that working from home is over.

A chair that looks like it came from a Mustang convertible and pallets—the first sign of orders from She Who Must Be Obayed.

House with 4th decorations

Nice bunting.

Uncle Sam.

Lakeway lines all its significant roads with flags for the 4th. Here is an example.
I hope you enjoyed the tour. It is now time to relax and enjoy the food and music.

What wonderful insights, John! The menu is delicious as always. But it seems the only citizens of Lakeway are the one with antlers. :-)) Beside of you, your wife, Tempeste and Twiggy. Best wishes, Michael

Ha ha ha. I try to avoid other citizens, Michael. 😁

A good explaination. 😉 So i hope the result of the next elections are not based on the votings by deers. Lol xx Michael

Good to see some people remembering the Fourth!
I’ll take the summer salad – do you think they could throw some shrimp on that?
LikeLiked by 1 person
They can do anything you wish. Shrimp it is. Fresh jumbo gulf shrimp coming up.

Yes indeed. This mom comes every day. Today she brought her babies.

Do you give her anything tasty to remember you by?

She gets chopped carrots. She can’t eat a whole carrot so The Producer has to cut them up for her. She takes them from The producer’s hand since she doesn’t like to get dirt on them.

Hi John, Daddy Buck is gorgeous, I can see the fuzz on his antlers reflecting in the light.

He is beautiful. There is also a grand daddy buck but hard to get a photo.

Here in Florida, we have the solar panel people. **I’m not trying to sell you anything, but…** Good. Then this conversation is over. They don’t quit.

We had those for a while. Not sure why they stopped.

As GP said, it’s really good to see your town administers and people giving 4th of July such attention. Deer in the neighborhood add to the beauty of it. That buck will be cleaning the velvet from his antlers soon.

He sure will. Once gone he will disappear as well.

The ‘first sign’ photos were fun. In my town, we have monthly ‘Mayor’s Neighborhood Cleanup.’ Each section of town has a different Saturday when you can put it all out on the street and the city will pick it up. I tell you–some people save the darndest stuff to put out on the curb…

I agree. There is always something strange on the curb. Thanks again. 😊

As always, your neighborhood is a treat to visit, even if only virtually. Thanks for sharing! 😀 ❤

Mmmm… So hard to decide on what to eat. All sound scrumptious!
Love the commentary on the discards!
Wonderful song for today. We have quite the summer breeze to go with our ridiculous humidity (making it endurable.).
Happy Sunday to you!

John,
loved the curbside stuff. A hoarders heaven.
is that your house where the deer is looking for a handout ?
LikeLiked by 1 person
This may be a duplicate. I got your message and yes this is our front door from the inside. Mama deer just steps up on the porch and looks in the door window. We tried lying on the floor but the. She used tear gas.

Those curb discards do spark some speculations. Mama deer was adorable. The sage was gorgeous! Some day the sage blooms after rain. As long as it blooms!

Yes that is the important point about the sage. I hope you have a great week, Jo

Love seeing the flags lining the roads. Boy Scouts put big flags out along major roads here. Can mama deer jump over your tall fence?
LikeLiked by 1 person
They could jump over but since they can’t see what’s on the other side they don’t try.

There is always something interesting to see in your neighborhood, John! I love the flags to celebrate the 4th – and I’d love to feel the velvet on the deer’s horns!

It would be nice to feel the velvet for sure. If we tried I’m sure Daddy Buck would live up to his name.

Always lots to see in the Howell neighborhood. I haven’t heard this song in about five years. It brings back a lot of good memories.

Amazing photos of the deers. You certainly have an interesting neighborhood. The flags are already up in your neighborhood. We haven’t gotten around to that yet.

I love that there are parts of our country where deer roam right up to the back door of people’s homes. When we see a deer around here, it is somewhat of an event. I love the “first sign of” theme in the captions, John. All true.🙂
