Thursday – A Little Personal – Tempeste and Twiggy at Play (sort of)

“Well, Twiggy. Looks like another day.”

“Yes, it is. A new opportunity for fun and learning.”

“What kind of fun and learning?”

“We can start off with a jungle ruckus.”

“Great idea. The Panther strikes fast and first.”

“Hey, we didn’t say go.”

“The early bird gets the worm.”

“I’ll show you early bird and worm.”

“Whoa, that was some move.”

“I’ve got more too.”

“Okay, okay. You got me pinned.”

“So much for the early bird. More like a dirty bird.”

“I guess I’ll think first before trying a preemptive strike.”

“Might be a good idea. How about a nap?”

“Ah, this is more like it. Are you going to lay down?”

“Yes, but I must make sure everything is okay first.”

“While you’re checking, I’ll make myself more comfortable.”

“Yeah, why not. The puma sniffs the air.”

“You hear that?”

“I sure did. I think it was a UPS van a couple of miles away.”

“A couple of miles? Still time for a snooze.”

“You better be ready on my signal. Those guys can sneak up on you.”

That side-eye in the next to last photo is classic. It sure does communicate awareness and indecision: ready to attack? or nap? Clearly, nap won.

No doubt, Twiggy has a sensitive alert system for delivery trucks. Did she learn that from Lucy or is it in her personality? Hope all is well with you.

You’ll never have a dull moment with these two! Boy oh boy, the difference in their shapes is so apparent in these photos! Tall and slim vs short and stocky. Love it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Frenchie like Tempeste. They’ve all been the Twiggy-type 🙂

They do have them but are very rare. We thought maybe Tempeste had some Boston Terrier in her but the DNA test came back 100% Frenchie.

These two are so cute–and their conversations are hilarious. When we had dogs, at the sound of the doorbell, they barked like no one’s business. But with the cats, at the sound of the doorbell, they run and hide under the bed. You don’t get cats for protection. 😹

    1. John W. Howell's avatar

Yes we adopted two feral cats (Brother and sister) They had the tufted ears and markings of a wildcat. When the door bell rang they wanted to see who was here. Anyone invited in would see these two looking like temple. guards. Caused some concern back in the day. We have a do not ring the doorbell sign to keep the baskerville hounds in check.

Twiggy, your panther pal hasn’t developed her 7th sense yet.

The fact that she can relax when a UPS truck is only a couple of miles away shows there is more teaching & learning to go.

Have you tried getting your paws on any discarded UPS packaging for her to rip up…. to bring out her cardboard lust?

    Just a thought.

    For Dad.
