“How’s the sun?”
“You should come out here. It’s nice and warm.”

“This is a nice change from the freezing weather.”
“Yes, it is. I think there is a rabbit out there.”

“I hate to tell you, but the rabbits don’t stay around here.”
“So, what was it I saw?”

“Could be a squirrel. I know it’s not a skunk ’cause they pretty much come out at night.”
“I know what squirrels look like. That was no squirrel.”

“I can tell you by sniffing that it was not a skunk.”
“I don’t know. I am picking up an essence.”

“Might be an olfactory hallucination too.”
“A what?”

“An imaginary scent.”
“That sounds way too cool to be true.”

“Tell you what? I’m going to head in.”
“But you just got here.”

“I know, but I don’t have sunscreen, and I think I hear the call of the kibble.”
“Wait. What is that thing on the house?”

“For heaven’s sake. It is a rake. You’re worse than a horse.”
“You can never be too careful. It looked like something dangerous.”
“Give it up, and let’s get some dinner.”
“Best idea today.”

Call of the kibble…love it. Much love to you, John, Mrs H, Twiggy and Tempeste from us both. Xxx 🩷

Twiggy turning down the sun was a surprise. Then again, the call of the kibble is too powerful to overcome.

Well, as she said she didn’t have her sunscreen. A girl has to be careful after all.

John, I like the fence. Is that new since Tempeste arrived? Our yard is unfenced so Lucy can’t be outside and untethered.
LikeLiked by 1 person
We have always had portable fencing for Lucy and Twiggy when we needed to keep them away from parts of the yard. Tempeste eats everything on the ground, so until she gets older, we have to keep her in an area small enough that we can keep clean of leaves, sticks, tree buds, and bird poop. (sigh)

Twiggy seems to have a full-time job reigning in Tempeste’s imagination. A rake? A rabbit? A girl cannot be too sure.
Good for you, Twiggy, with the sunscreen. We do have to watch our skin.

I love their conversations – Tempeste off the wall and Twiggy the voice of reason. Sorry to hear that Twiggy eats anything off the grass as well as bushes. Can you give her grass stuff in her diet? There must be something she likes about those nibbles.
Thanks for another smile today and belly rubs to the girls!

That sunshine looks so inviting — no wonder the girls wanted to feel it on their skin! And now I notice your turf. No wonder y’all don’t have to fight muddy paws! I might be forced to play copycat — this hunkering down and cleaning feeties every time the Monk wants to venture outdoors is rough on my poor back!

It is so worth it. We had to do muddy feet duty as well. I finally pulled the plug since the grass just wouldn’t grow in the shade no matter what the sod guys said. We replaced it three times and I finally had had it.

Yes it does. A little hose off takes care of any dirt. There is also an antimicrobial for dog urine.

When I lived in Connecticut, I opened my car door and hit a skunk. It sprayed the entire inside of the car and me. It was a late night and when I crawled into bed my wife said, “Have you been drinking?”
