Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Tempeste on the Porch

“How’s that cot feel, Tempeste?”

“You cannot imagine how warm it is and comfy.”

“This sun is nice, for sure.”

“Why don’t you join me?”

“I like the warm concrete.”

“You would think you were a stray on the street or something.”

“No. It just feels good. It’s like a big hot stone at the spa.”

“You been to a spa?”

“I have not. I think this place has to be a spa, though.”

“It has all the trappings. Good food, no hassles, a guru to show us a better way.”

“Speaking of hassles. What are you doing there?”

“I’m doing a self-imposed massage of my back.”

“I must say you look silly doing it. I’m coming up there.”

“You could try the back message, but I’m afraid you’d never get up.”

“I just love your fat jokes.”

“You must admit being caught on your back is a bit cumbersome.”

“Okay, there is some truth there.”

“I apologize if I hurt your feelings.”

“No hurt feelings. We just have different bodies.”

“For a big-boned person, you do move well.”

“Thanks for that.”

  1. Love this snippet. Not sure what sex either bull dog was originally, but one still has the slight capacity to be a real bitch. ; )

  2. From the peeks you’ve offered with this post, Twiggy and Tempeste have an enviable, much-loved life. Thank you for another venture into their world. 🌞

  3. It took Twiggy becoming a big sister to truly show her wisdom and seeing the two of them getting along (I’m sure not always) is a beautiful thing.

  4. Love these two, and looks like they are so enjoying that Sun-bed, despite their little differences 🙂 Harmony rules once again… Happy Thursday… Is it really that day of the week Again? Have a great day all of you 🙂 ❤

  5. The Monk spends quite a bit of time lying on his back like Tempeste. Must feel good. I’ve heard it indicates a very relaxed dog, one who’s quite comfy in his surroundings. If so, we’ve done well, huh?!

  6. For a big-boned person. Oh my!

Tempeste’s fat jokes would put me right over the edge. You’d think Twiggy was the Mae West of Frenchies. As my Auntie Ida always said about her rather chubby Rhodesian Ridgeback…she’s not fat, she’s just a big girl.

  7. I met a gentleman this week who has two French bulldogs. He commented that they detest the heat and stay indoors most of the summer days but love the snow. Also, they tend to be lazy during the day but get the ‘zoomies’ about 6 pm, run around for an hour, then are pooped. Does that sound right? Of course, we took out our phones and shared pictures of our dogs. ‘Proud parents’!!!

    1. That does sound about right for Frenchies. They really don’t do well in the heat. Ours also don’t like the cold much. Ours rest and then play in between naps. Tempeste needs a night walk to poop her out.

  8. So Twiggy, big boned is a compliment. Don’t let on to Tempeste, though! She might want big bones, too!

Gee, that porch looks wonderful. Does dad ever lay on the cot?

    Are mom’s roses growing yet?

Looks like we’re in for a great spring! Here’s some cherry blossoms for you and dad!

    1. The roses are blooming, Miss Resa. Dad never lies on the cot since it is too small for his big bones. You are right. Tempeste would love big bones. Thank you for the cherry blossoms.

  9. Definitely a great spa. Here, Mother Nature is expressing regret over the super-short winter we had by giving us another round of it for several days. I got up this morning to temperatures below freezing. (Since I moved here, winter is my favorite season.) Hugs.
